Re: Laptop suggestions

[ Edited ]

I've had my Dell laptop for 8 1/2 years.  Hubby's on his second Dell desktop.  We love Dell.  I bought my grandson an HP laptop for Christmas and it's on its second repair - not even 6 months old.  I would never buy another HP.

Whatever you decide on check the return policy of where you plan to buy.  Walmart for instance has a very liberal return policy.  QVC you're stuck with 30 days.

What to buy? APPLE

Where to buy? APPLE RETAIL STORE, APPLE STORE ON-LINE, OR AN AUTHORIZED APPLE RESELLER.

Where NOT to buy? ANY TV SHOPPING CHANNEL.

We have the iMac I'm typing on, an iPad and 2 iPhones.  We love them.  We have Apple Care for all of them to extend the warranty and access to Apple Tech Support.

The only problem for you is that Apple products DO NOT have the CD reader/writer.  I haven't missed the feature.  I haven't produced or used a CD in decades  If I have to download updates or new software, I do it through the App Store.

I've had a Toshiba forever.

I thought I wanted a Microsoft Surface until I saw the price.

Look at laptops online through various retailers, I like Best Buy.

Compare specs to price, be sure you get what you need.

If you go with a Windows OS, be sure to get Intel Core i5  processor or i7.

Minimum 8GB RAM

Stay with a traditional hard disk drive, get the biggest you can afford.

We used HP at work, they seemed to be OK.
