I will be traveling next week for the first time in many years.

I know it is not safe to access banking and credit card sites on public wifi.

How secure is it to use my AT&T data to access banking and credit card sites?

If not secure, how can you access these sites securely when away from your home wifi?

Thanks.

Re: Is Data Access Secure?

I just spoke to my credit union about this last week. I asked for the safest way to check my account information while away and he told me to download their app onto my iPhone  and log on that way using my phone carrier which is Verizon (and like you said not use public wi-fi).

@itsmagic   Thanks so much - that makes sense, and I will call my bank to see if they give me the same answer.

If you absolutely have to access your bank's or creditcard's website, use their app.  If you have a cellular connection, use it.  When I travel, I don't access either one while gone.  But, I'm never gone longer than 2 weeks.
