@GenXmuse      No...my husband has no idea how to run any computer, he has enough trouble with his phone!!  and there are no kids in the house.

This is a long shot, but a few years ago I started get ad messages on my phone and couldn't track the source. Not porn, but similar in that I didn't have to open anything. They were just there.

I found out they came from an app I had never downloaded. Once I deleted the app, the messages stopped.

I know this is vague, but you should check your list of apps for something that doesn't look familiar.

Good luck in finding a solution.

Re: Filthy spam messages

I use Apple products. A few months ago, an update included the option to block a lot of spam messages and emails. I don't know where it's located in settings but you might look. Or google how to find it. I also use malwarebytes.

Oh my...lately I have had A LOT of spam, then yesterday I received a message and a filthy photo in Messages, (macbook air and on my I Phone) I received a 2nd one today.

I did block the sender but 'it' was sent again same photo, different sender address...I have cleared history, cookies, etc. Does anyone have any ideas of what  else I need to do?

@Mom2Dogs

I happened upon a question about how to block all texts from emails in an Apple discussion.  Apparently the person had sent a screenshot of it to Apple and they said it was because of how the text was being sent.

If it's not sent as an "IMessage", Apple has no control over it.  The Apple rep suggested contacting the phone service carrier.

This question was asked in 2020, but I haven't been able to find anything more recent.

@geezerette  I will screen shot the next time I get one..it's been about 12 hours since the last 'message'....maybe they are done with me!

The one I got was not via email, it was IMessage so maybe I have some recourse.

Did you look up the article regarding Apple's firmware that they are or going to install to find people who have these kind of pics in their devices?

@Mistreatedbycs I 'heard' about it but have not actually read an article, I will when I get time.
