I wish I had known prior to purchase of my Dell Laptop that it was going to take over a month to receive. And I am saying that with not even receiving it yet. Customer service (qvc) can't really give me much help other than saying that I can not cxl the order because as of the very first click to place order ----- I COULD NOT CXL ------ Because the vendor DELL begins "building" the computer as they get orders. Come on don't they have a few of them already to go. As, I did not request anything that was not already on the computer. Does DELL not expect to sell thousands of them when they are shown on air at QVC ? Come on Dell please make this easier for the customer. I am trying to find a way I can get to DELL and see if I can find out. In the meantime I have the first payment "sitting" in my checking account.

Why not take your complaint to QVC or Dell? What do you expect to happen posting your rant here?

Hmm...does it usually take this long to build a computer?

We bought the last Dell TSV on March 16 EDD was April 14 then it was changed to EDD April 21 then to April 28 then it went to backorder.
We cancelled the Dell on April 11 because it was on backorder and I knew on April 13 HP was going to have a AMD as a TSV we bought the HP laptop ordered on April 13 arrived early April 28 I am very happy with the HP it is fast enough for me I use my computer for scrapbooking. Good luck I hope you have better luck getting your Dell then we did.
From what I been reading on the internet it does take about a month to get a computer from a shopping channel they are built to order I was willing to wait a month but our order went to backorder so I had no idea when it would arrive and I did not want to miss getting the HP TSV.

You should buy direct from Dell's site for better delivery options, and product selection.

They are being shipped from overseas, that's why it takes so long.

This was last year when the new iPad Air came out so ordering online was my only option since our local stores were out of stock. Anyway, since it was being built and shipped from China the total turnaround time (from the time I clicked the "Submit Order" button to the day it was delivered was 24 days. HTH forgot to add. Do you live close to a Costco? Costco does sell Dell computers both instore and online. They are being shipped from overseas, that's why it takes so long.

It's been said a thousand times, so I wish people would believe it (since it's true) - They play the money.
Most things, except for perishable food items, are not shipped when they tell you they are shipped. They tell you that they won't charge you until the item ships. Then they change the status to shipped, yet the merchandise doesn't ACTUALLY ship for several more days. In the case of computers, even longer than that. THEY PLAY THE MONEY.
I recently ordered a new laptop for my husband from the Toshiba website. They come from China, just like these do. Of course, they take almost a week for the customizing/processing part. Then they ship. The next Monday, the laptop shipped from China and, two days later, on that Wednesday morning it was at my house. I'm west coast adjacent and it even went to Nashville, or somewhere back there, and came back here to near the west coast., still to arrive in less than 48 hours from the time it left China.
So, the moral of the story is that it CAN easily be done but not if you order the computer from QVC. Not only will you get it much sooner if you order it from the manufacturer, but you will pay much less, get at least 6 months interest-free, and you'll get what you want - not a computer packed with resource-hogging junk that isn't worth anything, even though the show hosts try to convince people it's worth all these hundreds of dollars.

My Mac was built in Asia, and shipped from there directly to me. I received my Mac in about 7 days. Maybe less? Shipping oversees has nothing to do with it.
QVC and Dell have a problem in the way they market these on air, and people believe that they will receive the item in 7-10 days like every other product. Listen closely, they don't even mention shipping time on the air anymore during Dell presentations.
I can't even imagine what takes QVC/Dell a month to get these computers to people? Are they building them from scratch? With that what takes a month?
Anyway...here we are again with another post (among dozens) of people buying this and complaining of a month shipping time. When will people learn?
