I have a Dell on order from QVC and they tell you in the fine print it will take around six weeks to get it or so. No problem for me as I have a laptop that works fine I just wanted to update. It would be frustrating if you needed it right away though.

This was last year when the new iPad Air came out so ordering online was my only option since our local stores were out of stock. Anyway, since it was being built and shipped from China the total turnaround time (from the time I clicked the "Submit Order" button to the day it was delivered was 24 days. HTH forgot to add. Do you live close to a Costco? Costco does sell Dell computers both instore and online. They are being shipped from overseas, that's why it takes so long.
That was only because the iPad airs were out of stock everywhere and there was a backorder of millions of orders. The Airs were announced as pre-sale, which pre-sale orders sold out, which then created the backlog of orders after pre-sale.
You will find long wait for anything Apple after it is just announced. Millions have to have the latest and greatest from them. You see on the news people who camp out in front of stores. (crazy, LOL). Unless you are lucky enough to get your order in and accepted with the pre-sale lot. But they only make so many of those items in advance.

We cancelled the Dell on April 11 because it was on backorder and I knew on April 13 HP was going to have a AMD as a TSV we bought the HP laptop ordered on April 13 arrived early April 28 I am very happy with the HP it is fast enough for me I use my computer for scrapbooking. Good luck I hope you have better luck getting your Dell then we did.
From what I been reading on the internet it does take about a month to get a computer from a shopping channel they are built to order I was willing to wait a month but our order went to backorder so I had no idea when it would arrive and I did not want to miss getting the HP TSV.
I bought this TSV and it came in 7 days.

We have become so used to "instant gratification." I ordered a set of towels from Company Store about ten days ago. I was told I could get the hand towels and washcloths immediately (and I did) but that the bath towels were on backorder to June 26. The operator told me I could change the color and get them sooner, but I liked the color I ordered, that was the only reason I ordered them. I said, no that will be fine and she seemed surprised. So I'll wait for the bath towels. I have other towels I can use in the meantime. I'm assuming I won't be dead by June 26 and then I will have the towels I want.

Most things, except for perishable food items, are not shipped when they tell you they are shipped. They tell you that they won't charge you until the item ships. Then they change the status to shipped, yet the merchandise doesn't ACTUALLY ship for several more days. In the case of computers, even longer than that. THEY PLAY THE MONEY.
I recently ordered a new laptop for my husband from the Toshiba website. They come from China, just like these do. Of course, they take almost a week for the customizing/processing part. Then they ship. The next Monday, the laptop shipped from China and, two days later, on that Wednesday morning it was at my house. I'm west coast adjacent and it even went to Nashville, or somewhere back there, and came back here to near the west coast., still to arrive in less than 48 hours from the time it left China.
So, the moral of the story is that it CAN easily be done but not if you order the computer from QVC. Not only will you get it much sooner if you order it from the manufacturer, but you will pay much less, get at least 6 months interest-free, and you'll get what you want - not a computer packed with resource-hogging junk that isn't worth anything, even though the show hosts try to convince people it's worth all these hundreds of dollars.
Programs are only resourcing hogs if they are in the start-up group and run in the background. It's something you can easily fix by using either msconfig or CCleaner and remove them from the start-up group. BTW, all programs are guilty of this practice not just the factory installed programs. Anymore, the programs included with QVC's computers are sent on a separate disk and not installed at the factory.
Unfortunately, people buy from QVC because they need EZ pay. I doubt that changes anytime soon.

Good point. Thanks for clarifying that. It took me a few years before I knew to clean stuff out of the start up. What a difference it makes! Probably the bigger point is that they over-value a lot of the stuff on the computers they sell, much of which is either just trial period or stuff you can get for free elsewhere anyway. If people don't know what s/b in their start up (which, granted, we all should) they end up disappointed because they have a slow computer.
But, hey, you can get 'ezpay' from manufacture websites too, as they always seem to be offering 6 to 12 month interest-free promos.

It's the first thing I do when I have a new computer. It's also the first thing I do if I'm helping someone with a slow computer. One of the other posters talked about bloatware as if it was permanent. Programs can be uninstalled if you don't want them. Some of the programs included are a good deal if you'll use them. I think all Home Shopping channels use the included software to exaggerate or enhance the value. IMHO, this HP computer is a good deal.
