Close | Command-W | Close window. |
Copy | Command-C | Copy selection. |
Cut | Command-X | Cut selection. |
Delete | Delete | Delete the character positioned before the cursor. |
Find | Command-F | Find text. |
Force Quit | Option-Command-Escape | Force an app that’s not responding to quit. |
Forward Delete | Fn-Delete | Delete the character positioned after the cursor. |
Hide | Command-H | Hide the active app. |
New | Command-N | Open a new Finder window or create a new document in other apps. |
New Tab | Command-T | Open a new tab in a Finder window, document, or Safari. |
Paste | Command-V | Paste a copy of the last item that was copied or cut. |

I use my Chromebook most of the time. It has similar shortcuts but the keys are unique to CBs and the shortcuts are specific to CB OS. When I first started using a CB, it took me a while to figure it all out and I'm still learning more now.

I read where you can hook up a keyboard to a tablet & use shortcuts there too.

I use those. I also use a few ALT codes.
ALT 0176 you get the degree symbol °
ALT 0162 you get the cent symbol ¢
Press & hold down the ALT key while you enter the number.

Windows key + . (period) will bring up emojis, symbols, gifs, and more.

They work and I use a few...but why memorize all of those when they are all on the Windows pull down menu?

I had these memorized when I was a secretary.
The ones that are imbedded in my brain are cut/paste/copy.
