@Nightowlz  That's weird that it keeps coming......maybe you have to open and read it before it will stop??  Here in the office, we were aware it was coming at 2:18pm.  Lots of phones went off (including mine), but only one time, and then it was over.

@2blonde

You don't have to open it. It looks just like an Amber Alert you have to click on Confirm which I did but it keeps coming in. I'm not playing their games. I will turn my phone back on tomorrow & see what happens.

DH said he received it as all the guys at work did at the same time. All the phones were going off. He said they only received it once.

@Nightowlz  I didn't have to click on anything.  It just stopped on it's own.  I turned the phone on a little later to check, and it showed the message, just like any other message would show on it.

You are correct @meem120 It was put into effect during the Bush administration, but from what I understand, they just want to ensure it is working as it should, and that they felt it should have been tested more frequently.

It had Confirm on mine. If you don't click on it you cannot use your phone until you do. You cannot Opt Out. I should not have to keep confirming it. They are not going to alert us anyways like I said.

I want to know what is really going on. Just another way from them to keep tabs on everyone.

If I try to send a text it comes in again so I cannot send it???

@Nightowlz I received one just an hour ago...I have an IPhone! and thought it was a bit odd because I only receive Amber and Weather alerts!

Re: Cell phone Alert

I got the alerts on both my cell & TV.  However, after the TV alert, I had to call good ole Spectrum who had to do a remote reboot.  Spectrum is the biggest sham of a company I have ever dealt with.  They aren’t even capable of handling an Emergency Alert!

@Nightowlz  I didn't have to click on anything, and I can still use my phone.  The message now shows up under my emergency alerts, along with the weather alerts, etc.
