Which model Brother printer do you have?   Is it an "old" model?  Age?

Have you confirmed that your model printer is compatible with the Mac's OS?

Which model MacBook do you have?  OS is it using?

Need to know EVERYTHING you did to troubleshoot.  Did the manual have separate instructions for Macs?

Need this info to prevent the "been there done that" scenario(s).  As it  stands,  it's unclear what steps you may have missed or tried that has/has not already been fonted in this thread.

UPDATE:  Today I finally got things running.  Turned out the soft ware in the printer needed upgrading.  Simple fix but it took me awhile to figure it out!!
