No invite for me either. They're just waiting for me to spend the money then they'll send me the invite.

I've been checking to see if I get an invite too, but so far nothing. I wonder if eventually all Prime members will be able to buy one of these at the $99 price. If that's the case, I won't mind waiting and it will allow others to work out any bugs with them. I'll only buy it at this price, for $199 I don't think so.

This is a limited roll-out of a product and that's not unusual. They're frantically trying to find and fix issues as they arise (and there have been issues) while still dealing with a manageable number of upset customers. If they sold ten million out of the gate and issues arose they'd have a lot of angry customers. By releasing a few thousand at a time they're able to weed out issues as they pop up without inconveniencing too many paying customers. Those who got an Echo are only too happy to report issues and still feel lucky to have gotten one. It's annoying to be on the outside when you really want one (and I really want one!) but I understand Amazon's reasoning. It's a sound strategy on their part. Get the bugs worked out while inconveniencing as few customers as possible, but use enough testers to hopefully uncover any/all of the major issues.

Amazon lost millions on their Fire phone. They can not afford another bad device. I can understand the slow roll out of this product.
