It's still a pretty good deal at $179. I was expecting the 'regular' price to be closer to $300. For people who didn't have Prime the old cost was $199, but you got the remote which is now extra. It'll be interesting to see if Amazon advertises it and how our Echoes respond to the commercials.

It's actually closer to $210 when you add the cost of the remote.  Yea!  We got a deal for $99.

 

I wanted another one so bad (for work) that I bought one from ebay for $180.  I felt like I was getting ripped off since I knew it cost $99 at the time but got tired of waiting for another invite (for DH).  However now I'm glad I bought my 2nd one.  I got a deal on that one too since it included the remote.
