No, they don't look like maternity pants.  When not in uniform, I wear elastic wasted pants all the timeand at my age there is not a prayer that I am pregnant. I think they are fine.

OK, the reason why I laughed when I saw them is that it reminded me of an episode of Friends, where one of the boys comes for Thanksgiving dinner, wearing a pair of maternity jeans because he has decided he wants to see if he can eat an entire turkey. Thus the maternity jeans--so he'd have enough room. Woman Wink

@GoneButNotForgotten  I just saw that episode recently...and yes, it's funny. But those pants had a large panel of elastic material in the front--not just a simple ribbed waistband. They were obviously maternity pants...the ones to which you refer are just as obviously "not" maternity wear.

@GoneButNotForgotten That's not what I see when I look at them, but even if it is, why is that funny?

 

Some women also think a rounded shirt bottom looks like a diaper.  I don't see that either.
