What does it take to get some help?

On December 11, 2020, I purchased a $150 gift card (plastic, not digital) from QVC. When you purchase a gift card from QVC it goes through a company called Cash Star (they also go by the name Blackhawk).  The gift card was to be added to my Mother's Christmas gifts from me. I requested the card to be mailed to me at my home address in Hampton, VA so I could include it with the other gifts for my Mother. I received two emails from Cash Star telling me they had received my order and gave me this confirmation number--CNDUTBP46H. They also deducted the $150 from my checking account as payment for the card. Christmas came and went and no card was received. I called QVC Customer Service and was told there was nothing they could do--I had to go through Cash Star. I called Cash Star a total of 8 times and was always told to be on the lookout for it, it would probably arrive any day. Still no card arrived. I called the Corportate Office of QVC and received a recording that they were working remotely because of COVID-19 and to leave a message and someone would get back with me. I did leave a message as to what was happening and the next day I did receive a message back from them. I did not understand the woman's name( Ann-Marie or Emory?) but she also said that I needed to get back in touch with Cash Star. She said she realized I had tried to do that and then she left two numbers for me to try for them. She left me (866) 256-4212 and (866) 219-7533. I finally got through to the 866-219-7533 number today. I "held" for 42 minutes before someone ansewered me. The man who answered said his name was Giovani and asked me to tell him my problem, which I did. After going through the whole story, Giovani told me, "I'm just the receptionist and I can't help you, but I will pass along your complaint to Customer Service". I was about ready to explode. I then hung up from him and called the QVC Customer Service number and talked to a lady there and told her my problem and she said she could not do anything for me, that was a Cash Star problem, not hers. I am livid. I am out $150 and not one person (with the exception of the lady who left me two numbers for Cash Star) said they could help me or acted like they even cared that I'm out $150. If QVC has hired Cash Star to handle their Gift Cards, it would seem to me that they would care that Cash Star is not doing their job and is not providing any where near good Customer Service. Does anyone out there know how I can get the first card cancelled and be issued a new card or how I can get my $150 back? Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

I'm sorry this happened to you.  You can contact your credit card company, and they will refund the $150.  I would absolutely not get another QVC gift card after your experience.

@DebbieC222.  Did you use a debit or credit card?  Call your bank and tell them your story and see what they can do about it.  You've certainly made every effort to rectify the situation.

If it's in the mail it may not have arrived yet and is in postal office limbo. I'm now receiving mail that is at least four weeks old, and I know some bills I paid, and then scrambled to pay online when they never arrived by due dates, have yet to be received.

Re: What does it take to get some help?

my brother ordered me a plastic QVC gift card three weeks before christmas. he told me about it on christmas day and said he would keep me updated. it JUST arrived yesterday.....he sent me a text. so it was a month before it arrived......my guess is is that it is more the fault of USPS than anyone.

i generally purchase plastic QVC gift cards at the post office.

I purchase mine at a grocery store where I get fuel perks. But QVC had the deal prior to Christmas where you received a $10 bonus for every $50 bought. That makes it more attractive to have bought from QVC directly.

Re: What does it take to get some help?

A couple of years ago I purchased a QVC gift card for my sister's birthday.  I ordered it right after Thanksgiving (her birthday is mid-December).  I, too, had nothing but problems.  QVC says they can't help because they "don't sell" the gifts cards, it's thru a third party.  When you call the third party, CashStar, they are less then helpful.  Couldn't tell me if it was mailed out, tracking....nothing.  Thankfully my siter eventually received it but it wasn't until almost Christmas so she didn't get it on time for her birthday.  Took almost a month.  I will never purchase a QVC gift card again.  I've seen these posts before about how horrible CashStar and QVC is with their gift cards.  I just wish I knew this before I bough one.  Obviously the problem continues.

Re: What does it take to get some help?

Out of curiosity I googled CashStar.  They have some of the worst reviews I've ever seen.  Mostly 1 star.
