But now she is freaking out about the ring and all of our family and friends is like “wtf is going on? Where is it?” And I have no answers. It’s a pretty helpless feeling

Congratulations on your engagement!  I’m so glad you proposed and got that wonderful YES.  What a good report. As you added later that the ring is about to be delivered tomorrow, it’s going to be a terrific weekend for you both. You get to present that lovely ring, your gal can show off her bauble and tell everyone about her engagement to wonderful you.  It will all work out and start your new year out with renewed romantic love and sweet hope for a new life as man and wife to-be. 

Hope the ring is perfect. Let the story of your tense wait for that ring be a good one to tell your grandkids many years from now. Find a laugh in life’s temporary tensions. Be happy.
