@World Traveler wrote:When I saw that the Barefoot Dreams throw cost $60 and the promo given during that presentation said if you sign up for a QCard you would get an "instant" code to use for the purchase, I thought that was really good. Basically the TSV would be free.
I called Customer Service to order the throw and sign up for the QCard, and when they took down my information to sign up for the Card, the message they got was that I would hear from the CC company 7-10 days from now.
I told her I wanted the TSV for today with the free shipping. How is that going to help me 7-10 days from now? She didn't know why they were not letting me get the card. My credit rating is 829, with the highest possible thru the credit companies of 840. So that is not the problem. My income is high enough to qualify for it. My purchases and payments have been excellent with QVC.
Anyone else try to get the "instant" code for a purchase by signing up for a QCard?
Will be interesting to hear from them 7-10 days from now and know why they didn't do the "instant" thing.
Hope everyone else who tried to do the same thing got better results than I did.
That would be my luck.

@World Traveler Last thing I need is another credit card to manage, but I did hear MaryBeth make it sound as if the approval would be automatic and it would be like getting the BD blanket almost free. I suspect that was a bad choice of words because the card is probably controlled by the credit card company (Synchrony), not by QVC.
I knew I could afford the coverlet, so if I wanted another credit card, I could have accepted and used the $60 once it had been applied to my account. I'm working at simplifying my financial life. We're both fortunate to have managed our lives into a great credit rating.
PS - I did order the blanket- to use on my sofa or maybe on one of the beds.

@millieshopsI would love to have the cream solid; don't care for the striped ones. I have so many BD clothes, but the two things I haven't felt right about spending money on are their long robes and blanket/coverlet. But if they are free or close to it, I sure would take them. Maybe one of these days I will break down and get the long robe.
And I am with you on the credit cards. I only use one. But a FREE Barefoot Dream item....I was inclined to do it. But probably isn't going to happen now.
I did email Customer Service about the situation. Would be nice if they could make it work for me; however, QVC is not the credit company, so they probably don't have any control over the situation.

I ordered the Q card online and got the instant the $60 to use immediately. Going thru CS is not the way to go, as you found out. Bummer.

The last time I applied for a card to get a discount it came back as taking 7-10 business days to get an answer as well. I was surprised because my husband and I both have excellent credit.
I then got a letter in the mail that I didn't get an instant answer because I have freezes on my accounts with the credit bureaus. I had forgotten all about that. Could that be the issue with you @World Traveler ?

@Tori3569. After reading your post, I thought "Oh, that's why!" but then I got a notification from LifeLock.
"We've detected new activity on your credit report. If you recognize this activity, click YES. If you don't recognize this activity, click NO and we'll open a case and let you know the results of our investigation by phone or by email."
So, I let them know I did authorize it.
Thanks for responding as I hadn't even given that a thought. Lifelock is very good and fast with checking on things for me.

I still have a feeling that's what it was. If there isn't an immediate access to the credit report, I don't think it goes through. You'll probably get a letter or email explaining it anyway, but by the time lifelock authorized it, it may have been too late.
