Re: Buyer Beware Incorrect Address

That is unacceptable by QVC. They tell you it can't be canceled and it sits in "in process" mode for 5 days before it flips to "preparing your order". In addition, they are removing an item from your cart before you can even hear the full presentation because someone else wants it.  Real nice way to treat your customers. Imagine if that happened in "a store with a door", as they like to say. They are by far the most diffucult online store to deal with recently. Long time shopper too-early 90's. They are much more interested in the Tik-Tok shoppers now and don't much care about those of us using the website. That is clear.

Re: Buyer Beware Incorrect Address

@solarshell   Have you tried contacting the vendor directly?

I agree with those who suggested contacting the shipper. You should have tracking information available.

You could have it held, held at a station location for pickup, or refuse it.

Re: Buyer Beware Incorrect Address

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. At this point, it sounds like you can't do anything until it's shipped. I bought the tree when it was the tsv and it was shipped through ups. So maybe if you do call ups when it is shipped, they can help you. QVC at least gives a certain window of time to cancel. I accidentally put in an order that I didn't want for some beauty products on a different website and I called immediately after I ordered and they told me I  couldn't cancel the order. I had to wait until it was shipped to me and return my order.

I agree with the others who suggested changing the address for the shipment with the shipping co, if possible as soon as you can once the shipper picks up the item.  Generally, you'll get an E-mail that the item has been shipped, but really, they've only created the shipping label, so you'll have to wait until the shipper has actualy picked up the item for it to track. Go directly to their site, not the link that QVC sends you.

If it's too late for that and you're in the same town, I'd be looking to contact the new owners and hope that they're honest and would allow you to come and get it.  I know I've taken a package that was mis-addressed down the street and I had to ask on Nextdoor where the person lived.

@Icegoddess  She stated that she moved to a different state.

All and I mean all online retailers will remove an item from your cart if it's the last one and someone else wants to buy it.  It is still in stock until it's sold.  Some, like Gap and Banana Republic will use a pop up to remind you and others like Anthropologie just sell it and you wouldn't see it until you check out.

As for the "store with a door" comment, most retailers will not hold items for a customer like they used to years ago.  If they do hold them, they will frequently tell the customer they will need to sell it if someone else wants it.

Second of all, many products now come from the vendors so that adds to processing time, especially for TSVs or other specials.

Lastly, QVC is correctly switching over to social media retailing because it's a true growth strategy.  However, I use the website consistently and have had no issues.

Buyer Beware!!! I recently ordered a very expensive Bethlehem Lights Christmas Tree from QVC. However, about 1 1/2 hours after ordering it online I realized I had not updated our shipping address. I reviewed the email sent from QVC with the shipping address I had selected for the order and freaked out because I realized I forgot to update to our new address, We had recently moved about 1 month ago and due to the craziness of moving long distance from one state to another, I forgot to change this online shipping address (although most others I did remember to change.) I immediately called QVC customer service. They refused to change the shipping address. They wouldn't even cancel the order. They told me it was already in processing and that it was impossible to change. They recommended that the new homeowners of our previous home be contacted to ship the product to us at our new home. I told the customer service rep that we don’t know the new homeowners and that is asking a lot of them, don't you think? She also said they could refuse the shipment. I guess that would have been possible, however what if they work or are not at home when the shipment comes? Had to suck it up and learn an expensive lesson.  At least the new homeowners will have a new tree for their new home. QVC needs to update their policy with the changing times. As most folks, I order online from many other companies and I have not encountered this issue with another company yet. Most companies will allow you to cancel the order within 1-1/2 hours after placing the order or at least change the address. This is not good customer service. I have been a customer of QVC since the 1990s. I have spent A LOT of money over the years with them and have returned very, very few items. There should be some way in this new century with all the latest technology for QVC to allow a very good customer at least 24 hours to change/cancel an order. Now I am disappointed to be out the money and not have a new tree. I couldn't order another one because (1) it is too expensive to pay for two trees and (2) it was sold out.

@solarshell  When you get the tracking number for your package from UPS go to their site and change delivery address.  You can help yourself by doing this and avoiding additional expenses. Sometimes the only one that can help you is you. Hopefully, everything will be good.

Change A Delivery- This is from the UPS site:

Redirect a package you sent, change a delivery or correct your address.
