Re: when you start a thread,

More than anything, I wish people would have a TITLE to their thread that makes sense and you don't have to open it up to figure out what they're talking about! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

We chat and follow conversations while we are ON the board but when we log off, we don't think about this board. Not one bit. It's not like this is real life....lol

If I had to rely on my memory of a thread I started? I would be poop out of luck. First thing I do after I sign in is go to My Activity and follow up on threads in which I obviously was interested enough to post, or especially a thread if I started it.

For those that say "I forgot/forget/don't think of the Board and other such statements"? Wouldn't hurt to follow my lead when you sign onto this Bulletin Board. For those that don't care if they started a thread asking a question and do not respond to that thread?

Ptueee to ya'll.

when I've started a conversation, I hope others will want to contribute---I'm not always present but I try---I love when OP's reply to me

Re: when you start a thread,

I'm not inclined to start new threads, but if I do I try to return and answer questions, add clarification or thank others for posting. I agree, it's hard not to be at least a wee bit frustrated if we try to offer help (sometimes even do some research and share it) and the OP never returns. Happens to me all the time, and I'm often the last poster on threads which move down the page and quietly disappear into cybersleep.{#emotions_dlg.laugh} I've decided it means all is well and the OP is doing fine.

I also understand the feeling of not wanting to pop a thread back to the top of the list just to add a comment after being away for a few days. No perfection in etiquette here. I think everyone does the best they can, and sometimes everyday life causes us to forget or to fail to follow up.

Hi, Jannabelle, wishing you a happy start to the holiday weekend!Smile

In my case, I sometimes feel as though it seems I'm trying to get my thread back to the top. A "bump up" to get attention. I don't want to do that, because it can be annoying to others, so if it's been a while since I was here and the thread is older I read but don't add new responses.

Maybe I'm being silly{#emotions_dlg.blush} -- as people always tell us, they can just ignore a thread if they're no longer interested and it will fall back down the page on its own.

Depends on whether the responder makes a nasty remark or not. I like to use the appropriate smiley faces to respond.

It depends on how the thread evolves. When I start a thread, I try and converse with those who respond to my post. Many folks don't respond to the original post, they respond to another responder, and many times that response is something dragged over from another thread or a dispute from years back! At that point, more often than not I give up and move on.

You said pretty much what I would have said.
