I just had to take a quick break - I had something sweeter than a peach wanting my attention for her sweet little belly! My white and "peachy" orange cat, Missie, is laying on the desk beside me next to the window. She turns over on her back and makes little squealing noises so I'll kiss her belly. One of the few things sweeter than a good peach!

But I'll be waiting for the truck....

Ha! I give the bird 'tummy kisses'. I'm not sure how much he likes them, though, but he tolerates them. I always say TUMMY KISS-ES! I'm a spaz.

chicken, okay about the fuzzy skin.. bless your heart on using lemon flavored cloth things on you... I hate that for you... funny how those things stick with us, jut like below..

I loathe/despise finger nail files- the old ones that you can hear across town.. I remember my mom using one and as I type, I get cold chills.. give me my metal file..

As I recall it, it was usually after a major surgery (I had several since I was around 6 years old) and it was too soon to give you anything to drink - or as they believed at that time, 150 years ago. ha! So you would wake up and be thirsty. Since they couldn't let you drink any liquids yet they had these lemon-flavored (I do like lemon, BTW - a LOT!) clothy, cottony things to put in your mouth. Still it makes me wince to think about the feel of that clothy thing in my mouth. Yeah - funny how some things, a lot of which are very small things, stick with us.

When I read about the fingernail file I could hear that reeeee reeee reee reee (In kind of an Alfred Hitchcock Psycho kind of deal) sound that probably skeeves you out. Plus the scratchy kind of thing across the nail. Doesn't bother me, but I can feel it.

It is funny how that stays with us all our loves. I barely remember having my tonsils and adenoids removed when I was a little girl- back then parents weren't allowed to stay over- I remember being so scared in that room.. I can't recall much after waking up or anything with lemon- ice chips maybe? That was, gosh, in the early 50's. Now when I smell lemon, I'll think about you and don't file your nails too loudly.. LOL

Lemon - that's another one I love. Lemon cake or lemon with coconut. Junior's makes a cheesecake that has lemon and cake in it and then it's covered in coconut. Sooooo good!

Hi, Suzie! What a fabulous thread! (Kudos to you, sweet lady, for starting a thread! As you see, your friends are behind you 100%!)

Gosh, you evoked memories for me. When I was growing up, so much of my family was in Georgia and we always looked forward to the fresh peaches. My mother was old school, sliced up the peaches and sprinkled sugar and a wee bit of cinnamon on them, and placed them in the refrigerator. As they cooled, the sugar brought out the sweet, syrupy, juice, and we would eat them "as is" or put this lovely, delicious, slightly decadent concoction on top of fresh vanilla ice cream.

My great-grandmother and one of my grandmothers also made mouth-watering, yummy cobblers with the most delicate, buttery pastry. My father also loved making homemade ice cream, and he added fresh peaches and... we were in heaven on earth!
