this is true.....is there a BAD bread?

i will even eat wonder bread!!!!

my favorites are middle eastern breads.....pita, lavash, sangak. i LOVE them freshly baked when possible, which isnt  often. they are so good spread with some butter, feta cheese, laughing cow cheese, or dipped into hummus or spreads.

I'll have to look for the frozen Costco baguettes.

My all time favorite is a loaf of artisan sourdough. It's hard to beat a crusty croissant from a little bakery that opened up nearby recently.

Tansy, I just have to warn you . . . I bought both the baguettes and the Kerry Gold butter during the same trip (someone had recommended the butter and I was curious).

By the time it was all over, the entire baguette was gone . . . I ate the entire thing by myself with that delicious butter . . . and paid for it later.

But coming straight out of the oven, they are heaven!

I'm not a sourdough fan at all, but I usually make him a loaf, he likes it toasted with garlic butter when we eat steaks especially.

I use a white starter and then wheat only for the bread recipe.

It's very rare that I have bread. I gave it up years ago. I will eat it if I go to a dinner party or it's offered to me but I don't feel great after I eat it. I do love the smell of fresh baking bread. MMMmm...

@momtochloe, have you tried Finlandia  butter?  I find it to be better than Kerry Gold (in my humble opinion)

Wow, no to be honest this is the first I have heard of it.  I can't believe there is a butter I missed . . . now I must go and investigate.  Do you find it in say a regular grocery store or do you need to go to a more specialty store?

The only other butter I have tried is Plugra which is also very good too.

@mtc I got mine at a regular grocery store - it was at Shaws out here in MA.   So, it wasn't a fancy smancy grocery store.

you can see what stores might carry it in your area by going here http://www.finlandiacheese.com/product-locator/
