The doctor cannot see at the cellular level, so what he is commenting on is that the polyps have not yet become obviously cancerous, IMO. But, they still need to be looked at under the microscope just to make sure. I had them say the same thing to me when I had a breast biopsy. I didn't see the doctor until after the report came in.
There are several methods for doing the prep. I don't think they do the pills anymore since people wouldn't drink enough liquid afterwards which could result in kidney damage. My 1st one I had the big jug with the crystals, called Go-Lightly. The 2nd time I took a couple of Dulcolax the night before the prep. On the day of the prep was clear liquids and then Miralax and lots of clear liquids. I ended up throwing up due to the amount of liquids on my stomach. I just can't take it. I've decided I will no longer force myself to try and drink the amount of liquid prescribed in such a short time again.
Those are not the only two methods. It's going to depend on your doctor which is acceptable.
I would suggest to eat easily digetible foods for a couple of days prior to the prep. That'll help with the cleanout.
@Icegoddess I've always had the powder mixed with Crystal lite lemonade. I usually pour it in the glass stand by the refridgerator and gulp all of it down at once and did the same with each glass.
My brother had the Dulcolax and the Miralax. He mixed the Miralax with gatorade. I tasted it and it was delicious.
My sister was prescribe 2 six ounce bottles of something which she drank and then had to follow it up with a certain amount of water.

@San AntonioGal and @JFD12 Before you book your appointment ask the office what prep they have patients use. I was completely unaware that there are many different preparations available and Drs. use them according to their preference. My sister had a colonoscopy and her prep was just a drink in a can the size of a Red Bull! Mine was much more and I thought I would never get it all down. When I told them at the office that my sister had a far better experience, they simply said "Oh, okay! Just tell the office the next time that you want that preparation!" You might be able to save yourselves a lot of misery!

@Sage04 The 2 bottles is Magnesium Citrate and you can get that in the laxative dept just like the Miralax.
ETA: I just can't drink large amounts of liquid quickly regardless of how it tastes. I also rarely eat soups because they leave me with a sloshy feeling.

@781Florist - Wow - good to know! I wasn't aware of this and will definitely ask about it. Thanks for the tip!
