Okay @JFD12.   I will call next week and get it scheduled.  Smiley Sad  Then we can compare notes when it's over and done!

@San Antonio Gal  Sounds like a plan! 💪🏼 We're in this together! 😜

I must confess too though, I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer out of nowhere (!!) at the very end of October. I had surgery in December, all is well and I've been back to work since mid January. Things are looking good ... and I knew I just had to go ahead and schedule the dreaded colonoscopy next! Especially since my younger sister just had hers done (before me!)!! 🤪

@JFD12 @San Antonio Gal As long as you have someone to take you and bring you home, the rest is fine.  Not being able to eat and drink what you want the day before is not fun.  The stuff they give your to drink to clear out the colon is tolerable.  The procedure itself is a breeze.  You will both be OK.  Best wishes!

Oh my @JFD12 .  What a true blessing that you had the surgery in Dec and back to work in Jan.  So glad things turned out well!  Such good news.  Thanks for motivating me to get this procedure done. Smiley Happy

I have to schedule my first one and I'm worried about the prep part (the drink).  Been putting it off and I know I need to get it over with.  Ugh.

They give you a pkg. of lemon pwd to  put in the liquid.  I also put in a couple of pkgs Crystal light pwd and it did not taste bad.  It was just drinking it every 15 min to get it down in the allow time.  Prep was not bad, its the results during that is bad if you know what I mean.

You are right.  Thank you.  I'm OK today.  I think the fact that the Dr. said, "See you in three years" is a good sign.

I've already had 2 and I'm on the 10 year plan.

The doctor cannot see at the cellular level, so what he is commenting on is that the polyps have not yet become obviously cancerous, IMO.  But, they still need to be looked at under the microscope just to make sure.  I had them say the same thing to me when I had a breast biopsy.  I didn't see the doctor until after the report came in.

There are several methods for doing the prep.  I don't think they do the pills anymore since people wouldn't drink enough liquid afterwards which could result in kidney damage.  My 1st one I had the big jug with the crystals, called Go-Lightly.  The 2nd time I took a couple of Dulcolax the night before the prep.  On the day of the prep was clear liquids and then Miralax and lots of clear liquids.  I ended up throwing up due to the amount of liquids on my stomach.  I just can't take it.  I've decided I will no longer force myself to try and drink the amount of liquid prescribed in such a short time again.

Those are not the only two methods.  It's going to depend on your doctor which is acceptable.

I would suggest to eat easily digetible foods for a couple of days prior to the prep.  That'll help with the cleanout.
