@ALRATIBA Casinos on tribal lands near me have Players cards and no coins are used in slots any more. A credit prints out on paper and you cash that in if you have money coming.

At Walmart the other day person in line in front of DD spent 20.04. She gave the cashier $21.00 expecting 96c. change. No, cashier was out of change as apparently all of this store was and said she had to round it up to $21.00. Customer replied, no round it down. Cashier said she couldn't because then she would be 4c. short in her till. Customer took her money back and walked away from her order. Crazy.

Thank you, please remember to tip your waitress.
I just saw this. It always cracks me up when something is both funny and true! This one fits the bill! (pun intended)

It's not crazy to refuse to cooperate with theft. Think about it: If the cashier would be short 4 cents if she rounded down, wouldn't she be over--which is also bad--96 cents if the customer permitted the shortchange? I suspect the cashier planning to put 4 cents of her own in the till and pocket a dollar, which will not show up when the till is reconciled.
Customer did the right thing. Don't cooperate with being ripped off.

@noodleann When I said crazy I did not mean the customer. The customer was right. If that is the policy at Walmart, or just the policy of the cashier, then that is what I meant by crazy. I would have walked away too.

I'm a gal, but I seem to have an endless supply of Dad Jokes and awful puns. So glad that made you smile.
Thank you for letting me know!

About late June we were having a problem here in East Texas and my bank would not give me any coins. After about a month one of my usual tellers said he could give me two rolls of quarters. That was the max., of any coin denomination for any customer I suppose. Several retailers and drive thru food stores have said to me the shortage is over. I did notice my favorite food company still had there sign up for exact change or debit card only. She took my cash and gave me the change that was due to me. I have not stopped giving cash at all during this time and have tried to do exact only. Whenever that is not possible no one has complained or refused my change to me.
Funny how they begged us to not use cash because it was dirty now they would love it to fill there empty tills.

I only use cash, and change has rarely been an issue. Most stores are telling me they're not having a problem.
There's no way I'm going cashless. I leave as little of a financial footprint as possible.

Yes. We have had that issue here. My sister needed change for her job and went to her bank to get some. They could only give her 10.00 dollars worth and told her they had very little.
