Nope, for communications.
They have already surveyed and marked the rear side of highway markers. Go the wrong way down the freeway and check it out 👽🤖😈

@Sooner wrote:Yes I get it. It is an ad campaign, the news media knows exactly what it is about and probably are in on it.
Sadly, it is what passes for "news" nowdays. We used to get information about the economy, world events, weather, car safety. . . Now we get puppies and monoliths.
What's wrong with puppies?
It's better than constant Covid threads, which the news blasts us with day in and day out.
I'd rather have the puppies, myself.
@KingstonsMom Nothing is wrong with puppies. But the news is supposed to be for useful and important information and not fluff and cutsey stuff.
There is no lack of dogs anywhere you look in this country now. TV is all dogs all time.

One was found on a popular hiking trail in Fayette County, WV this weekend.

It's the new Pokemon Go.
Too many gullible people watching Ancient Aliens instead of actual history + too many people with time on their hands and access to machining tools = something to keep everyone occupied.

@qualitygal I think they look cool. A nice diversion for a conversation that isn't all virus all the time.
I like reading all the speculation; and I can get behind shows that feature ancient sites that are deserted and cultures that have vanished.
Whether one believes in civilizations in other universes isn't important; what is important is learning about civilizations that built incredible structures that were often aligned with known galaxies.
I am not putting too much into these monliths; just find them unusual and a diversion which is fine. Life is not etched in stone.

Like crop circles....people do things to make other people wonder and question things... get on the news.

Our news showed one on Fremont St in Las Vegas! It wasn't embedded into the ground like it looked to be in Utah, it was just sitting on top on the cement walkway and looked ridiculous. Also, the one in Utah didn't look like a mirror on all sides. ![]()

I would think that, in a busy high profile place like that, someone would have had to see it be put up or would have been caught on camera. I can only assume there are tons of security cameras on those casinos.
