I don't have a single one.  My electricity has gone off two hours in the 25 years I've lived here so it's not a problem.  I rarely use a cell phone.

@Kachina624 Consider yourself lucky!  We lose power every time there is a severe storm.  Sometimes it's only an hour or so but there have been times when it lasted a day or more.  The longest was in 2012 during Super Storm Sandy we lost power for three days.

Dh broke down a few years ago and we purchased not a whole house generator (very expensive!) but a smaller one that we have to manually turn on.  It will power lights, TV & the refrigerators but it's too much for the washer or AC.

Thank goodness we had it a couple of years ago when we suddenly started to get water in the basement and by hooking the generator up we got the sump pump to work and scooped up the water that did come in with a shop vac.  That was a mess but could have been so much worse!

I've lived in my house 40 years and the only time my power has gone out was when the electric company swapped out a transformer and they give you plenty of notice or someone doing construction (usually the city) accidentally cuts a power line. Our power lines are underground so no poles to go down.

@Meowingkitty The power lines to my community are underground but they are above ground on the main roads so we still lose power too often.

@haddon9.  That's what we have too and few trees.  The one time it did go out, a car hit a power pole out on the main road.

@Kachina624 It happenes when it is icy, windy, lightening strikes (thank goodness not often) or a car hits a pole.

There is an electrical transformer about half a mile or so from my street and I can hear it pop or explode sometimes when the power goes out.

I have so many, and use them all often. If you are often without power they make life more comfortable, more convenient. I have used them to charge phone, tablet, portable television, and even small power banks that go in heater blankets for when the furnace is off.

For everyday I charge my watch at night using a power bank. I charge my small humidifier at night using a power bank.

We loose power often. One of the best gifts I was given was a Sun Joe Inverter. You clamp a Sun Joe battery onto it and I have an outlet to brew my morning coffee or keep a light on for hours.

We all have different needs.

I have several. I use them when I travel. I have been given a few and they come in handy!

I have 3 currently and just purchased another.

For me (and apparently others) it's an indispensable tool.

(I'm assuming that this is about portable handheld chargers for phones and small devices, not larger "generators.")

Waiting to see the final polling results!

We lose power a lot. Last week we were w/out power for about 30 hours. We are very happy w/our Generac.
