Hi Issy, glad to see you. Thank you for being happy for us. We are absolutely certain the Lord directed us away from that other man who ignored us, and to these people. They have painted inside several times, but for some reason we didn't think of them for the outside. WE might get the living room painted this year, but don't know for sure. We need to do something about that planter with the RR ties. It needs top soil and then what in the world to plant in there? Won't be able to water them, so it has to be drought tolerant. We asked the contractor yesterday if he knows anyone, but he doesn't. We also need a plumber to fix 3 leaks. They have to be fixed or we can be fined. Nobody knows about them nor are they visible, but we want to have it done. Thank you for being glad for DD and her salary. Makes me feel good to know that when I'm not here she can perhaps afford to live here if she wants to.
Tomorrow is Thursday...Bistro day? It must be hard to see that beautiful atrium without the fountains. We can still water a bit, but if the city offers rebates to take out the lawn and have the front planted with drought resistant things, we will look into hiring someone to do it. GS and his wife did that and it looks nice. Our front yard is much larger than theirs. I may have to keep the indoor plants alive and let the outdoor container plants go. Being able to shower and drink and wash clothing is more important. Take care of yourself, girlfriend.

cute, hope the weather allowed you to get your lawn mowed today. It's overcast here, in the high 60s. Glad your pets are okay with getting bathed. Especially the cat. One of the ladies on the Widows thread has a Turkish Van cat. They LOVE to swim. Another lady there posts lots of pictures of them and other animals. Dogs too all dressed up sometimes. Too cute.
It's wise to keep the Corvette inside if the weather is iffy. She has never been rained on, right? Amazing. Today I got some ironing, or pressing, done. Tops and capris. Have a new board that I couldn't figure out how to open. DD showed me, and while it wasn't easy, I did it so yeah. I really need to go through the closet now and give away many of the tops I don't wear for whatever reason.
Yes, I'm thrilled that DD got a raise and some other perks. The teachers have to vote tonight on whether or not to accept the contract, but there is no doubt they will. They are all over the moon excited to get the extra money. Today is the school's celebration of Flag Day. A big deal there. Hope it all went well.
So good to see you. Enjoy the day. Hi to Issy, MsLomo and all.

Hi Snappy; good to see you here today. Can't believe that the painting is finished!! I have an image in my head of how your house looks. I know that you and DD are thrilled. I bet that she can't believe how much work and money goes into owning a home. There is always something to do. Didn't you tell me a few months ago, that during the summer, you and DD#2 would like to go on a day trip?
Hi Cute; Lucky is such a amusing fur baby. So, Brooster stays in the house all of the time? How is your son and his family in Texas? Hope that they were not in the area that had the flooding.
Hi MsLomo......hope that you are well. Stop in and say hello. Hi Delaney, Waja, Gracie, AgnesAnn, Lurky, Hilo, Bathina, Selah, Rowan and QAnu. See you later.

Hi Issy, nice to hear from you. It's Friday already. I imagine your mental image of our house isn't how it really looks. It's a Mediterranean style with a walled in courtyard in front. We had brick flooring put there long ago. I keep red clay pots with geraniums on top of the wall. The red tile roof is something I just really like. You can either approach our front door by walking up the driveway or by a winding 5 step stairway hubby built long ago. As he was getting more and more infirm, bricks started falling off or breaking. I think the weed whackers help that happen. While he was really ill, our pastor and 3 other guys came and rebuilt that so it's good as new. What a blessing. It was quite something to see pastor in his shorts and hiking boots swinging a sledge hammer to break up the old bricks. What a blessing he has been through all of this. He and his wife, who has breast cancer, are going on half duty at the church, and the associate pastor who is much younger will be senior pastor. It's win-win for all of us and we are thrilled. DD and I will for sure go out to see my sister's place probably next month, and also down to see DD#1's unit now that they have de-cluttered, etc. I would love to go to San Diego, but the summer flies by so fast and DD has to rest as much as possible. We will see. I love having her here. Do you have plans for a summer vacation?
cute, I think it's funny that Brooster likes his privacy! LOL! I look at pictures of animals wearing clothing and wonder how in the world they feel about that! Glad you got the mowing down again, and that the Corvette is inside high and dry. The time will come when you can take her out.
So glad your Texas family is okay. Some of those storms have been terrible. Wow, another 15 year old in the bunch. Another learner's permit, I suppose. Are they still renting out the house they own in Maine? Or is it Vermont? Sorry, NE anyway. I know they wanted to sell it, and that would be nice. This is sheet washing day here. Happy for machines that do that work for me.
Hi MsLomo and all...take care,
snappy

Hi there cute, good to see you today. DD and I are trying to figure out what to do about the outdoor plants. Usually I'd be planting new things at this time of year, but it doesn't make sense because we have to conserve water. Got rid of some broken pots and cracked yard animals. A Road runner with a broken tail, for instance. I'm going to concentrate on keeping the indoor plants and the apricot tree alive. We can water twice a week for 15 minutes per station. If we exceed the allowed units, we will be fined. So far we are not using too much. We still use paper plates and plastic "silver ware", so we don't run the dishwasher ever but we do make a lot of trash. I'm not going to put water in the fountain I got last year. It looks pretty just sitting there.
We had so much wonderful help from people we barely knew when hubby was ill. So thankful for God's people who show His love. Am hoping my sis can come out next week. She will be off for vacation. After school is out, DD will take me out to see her new place.
I was thinking about how small Lucky is and what he would look like in clothes. Marshmallow!!! How cute. I'm not into horse racing, but it would be neat if American Pharoah won the triple crown, wouldn't it?
Hope to get my hair colored this afternoon. Too many dark/gray roots showing. Enjoy kicking back and have a nice weekend,
snappy
Oh, glad your kids still have the house in Vermont...

Devia, you were up late last night ... what an exciting Funfest day! I love thinking about Baby Bunny kicking back and taking a snooze behind the shed -- too cute. And hilarious about Brooster preferring privacy to hanging out too much with the other family members. LOL. The Florida Room is HIS! Glad that your family is doing fine and that you and DH are enjoying life. Too bad about the hangers, though -- very strange situation that "CS" has not addressed with you what happened -- it must be something she can't say or would be too uncomfortable discussing. Oh well, what can you do.
Yes, the Belmont/Triple Crown win was wonderful to see. What a majestic and gorgeous horse. It was joyful and mood-elevating to watch American Pharoah stretch out and run as if he were loving every second of it.
Issy, your birthday ... the red dress and the gold jewelry -- you looked so great and it was a surprise!! Good for you!! There's a lesson in there ("Wear good underwear when you go out -- you never know" that our mothers frequently told us lol). It's coming back to me now -- I just sort of blanked out, but the Lake Tahoe visit brought it back. I was there once, on the north side, in a restaurant with a great view. Just before the clouds and rain fell on the area, I got a glimpse of heaven from my restaurant seat -- very blue sky with the mountains on the sides and the colorful sailboats in the water. It looked like a postcard. I am glad for you that you've found your perfect Skinn-care! Yep, if it's all working, no reason to switch it up! I am using Adrienne's 5 Essentials Crème consistently, and it's amazing stuff. I use Suzanne Somers organic foundation most of the time, but I augment it with Skinn. The only reason I don't use Skinn foundation consistently is it tends to cause blackheads (which I can't stand!). But the Skinn eye shadows, eye primer, blush -- fab.
I stayed up late (11 PM) to see MarlaWynne's show the other night. I had spotted a beautiful top in black/white, pearl, and white/sand. I figured if I liked it, others would, too, but I wanted to see the presentation because I wasn't sure if I should order my regular size or size down. I think it was the second item presented in the 11 PM show, and it was "flying out the door," as "they" say, so I tried to buy the black/white, but it was already on waitlist (which I said "yes" to), and I was able to buy the sand/white. The top sold out quickly. I hope it's not too large -- I ordered my regular size -- I do wish the shopping channels would be VERY SPECIFIC about size information. It's frustrating when they talk on and on while you're chomping at the bit (Belmont reference -- ha) to have information about the item!
Snappy, I am picturing your house and the patio cover. How nice to live in such a comfortable and pretty house. I imagine it was sad to see your DH's patio cover come down. Yes, I agree with you and DD about the drought-resistant plants. No sense planting flowers that will need water. Maybe in another cycle (if there is another one) when water is plentiful. I feel so bad for your DDIL -- I hope she will find a way to ease her pain.
Wishing everyone a good Sunday and week ahead ....
