Hi cute, glad you are enjoying nice weather. It's 95 right now, going higher in the next few days. What a mess at your hubby's work place. So glad that man didn't catch fire or something. Washing off all that oil would also make a mess in his shower. Yikes. Sorry your hubby had to clean things up. The man who was here yesterday will be calling me any minute to tell me if he has been able to make arrangements for someone to come on Saturday to take away the table and some other things he wants. DD#2 doesn't want to let go of the tool box that hubby had put personal stickers declaring his faith. It hurts her too much, so the man is going to take what is in it, and a vise instead. Maybe we are being taken advantage of, I don't know. Just want the big old table out of here.

Issy, I also sort of miss the people on the 70s thread, but they are in contact with each other via email and DD has warned me not to get involved with that so they know my identity and addy , etc. Hope you have a great time at your SIL's place. Am sure the food and décor will be wonderful. For some reason I think about the homeless man as being much older. Hope he has a nice place to live now. Bless you for caring about him.

Hi to MsLomo, bath, and all

Hello! We have had gorgeous weather here. I love it. I can feel, though, my allergic reactions starting. {#emotions_dlg.blink} So, I'll be paying close attention.

Snappy, I hope the man agreed to take the table and other things! I don't think you're being taken advantage of if you need to create space and he is helping you by taking items (especially the heavy table) from you. I suppose you could call an appraiser to come value these items or look on eBay and elsewhere to see if anything similar is for sale -- but in my mind, the relief of getting things cleaned out and organized is worth it. I can understand DD's attachment to the toolbox; he can always get another box.

Devia, glad to hear about your SIL and your fun time together. I wonder if she's forgetting to eat regularly. I know it can happen, especially in grief.

I can picture Baby Bunny in the flowers, just kickin' back and enjoying the pretty fall weather. Lucky must think Baby Bunny is a relative of his.

Issy, nice to "see" you! I'm glad you have found that Skinn is working really well for you. Yes, I agree with you about the need to be wary and cautious about everyone. You can be friendly but keep a safe distance.

I want to send a message to check in with Bathina on the PM next door. I hope she and little Hal are doing fine. It's too bad that she can't "talk" to us here -- unfortunate, and a loss for all of us.

Happy Almost Weekend!

Hi friends. I know it's sort of late for you, but I've been at the eye doc this afternoon. A check up after the laser procedure. My right eye is terribly dry and it's sometimes hard to open it and keep it open. He told me to use the artificial tears 6 times a day and call him on Monday or Wednesday to let him know how I am. He may then put me back on the steroid drops if there's no improvement, but he's reluctant to do that, and so am I.

DD#2 had back to school night last night. Got through it, got home. Stood in the kitchen to tell me a bit about it and said her stomach didn't feel right and WAM she got hit with some sort of bad bug. She's been losing it from both ends if you get my drift, and is sleeping now. Poor thing. So grateful she made it through last night. That's a big deal at the school.

cute, I'm just so impressed always with how close your families are there. So grateful you SIL has people around to be with her and to observe in case anything goes wrong. Nice that they cook for one another also. I'll be part of their NASCAR family! The man is coming tomorrow at 1 in the afternoon to take away the table and a vise and some tools. DD is supposed to go through the tool box, taking out what they can have, but I don't know if she will have the strength to do it. I'm very understanding about why she wants to keep the tool box. Hubby had several of them, but my son and his sons took the rest, so this is sort of all we have left that mattered to him and is personal. I know it will be hard for them to get that table out of the office. Yikes.

MsLomo, so nice to hear from you. Glad you are having nice weather. It's another 100 degree day here with hotter days ahead. So nice inside, though. I quite agree that the main thing is to get that big table out of here and be able to use the space for other things. DD has a plan, but can't implement it until that happens. I miss so many people here. The ones we have loved for years, and the new friends I made on the 70+thread, but they are keeping in touch via email, and DD says "no" to me about that. I take her advice. Wish bath could be here. I have trouble figuring out what to do at the other site, so sometimes I try, but mostly I just let it go. If you do make contact with her, let her know we miss her and love her still.

Hi Issy and everyone who reads here.

Hi cute. Just a quick note to stay in touch. The people will be here in an hour to take the table and other things. Bitter sweet, but we need the space. It's very hot and I don't envy the having to wrestle that big thing out of the office where hubby had it.

DD is somewhat better, but not completely well. I'm going to sign off and make her a half a grilled cheese sandwich. She's not sure it will stay down, but is weak and hungry and am sure she's dehydrated also. She worked in the office a bit this morning making sure to save important and personal things of hubby's before they come.

Just found out that my DS is working this month somewhere in Indiana. I guess he comes home on weekends. It's temporary. His wife told my DD#1 about it, or I wouldn't even know.

I think your days of eating hamburger meat anywhere are over, dear friend.....live on the memories of the good old days and eat other things....LOL.

Hi to everyone,

Hi cute, wish we had some of your cool weather. It's probably 100 by now. DD is feeling better, but not over the symptoms, so I think she may stay home tomorrow. She might have gotten this from another teacher who returned too soon. She is in her classroom now making order after the sub was there on Friday and setting things up for another one tomorrow. So far I haven't gotten it. Am praying I won't. Staying out of her bathroom and washing my hands often.

It was sort of sad watching the men take hubby's granite table. I cried a bit afterward, but he doesn't need it and we can't use it, so it's a good thing. Little by little we will toss out things that we don't want and repurpose the room for storage.

For sure we have to pay attention to our tummies. Everything sort of slows down as we age. Can't complain. So many don't live as long as I have and aren't any where near as healthy as I am. Grateful, is what I am.

Glad your hubby got the fireplace cleaned. Some day it will be cooler here, and we can use ours, but not for a long time.

DS said it was in the 40s in Indiana, and the 70s last week. He's home for the weekend. Don't really know what he's doing there, other than it's connected with the company his wife works for. The only place to find out what's going on is face book and I've never even tried to find that, and don't want to be involved with it. DD#1 is, and she tells me some things.

Hope you enjoy your day and stay well. Hi to Issy, MsLomo, bath and others.

Hi Snappy; thanks for stopping by. I am so sorry to hear about DD#2 being sick. Hope that she gets better soon. I know how you feel about the granite table. We try to move on but it is simply so hard. It is a feeling that can come over us at any time.

Hi Cute; glad to see that baby bunny is still enjoying your beautiful yard, and staying out of trouble. I can't even imagine it being 40 degrees. It is so hot in my neck of the woods.

Hi MsLomo....I purchased 2 sweaters from the southern channel from Antthony--the Danna sweater in black/white zebra print and the camel/leopard design. They are fabulous. Looking forward to getting them. I bought another sweater coat from ShopHQ--WD by Ny; I think that is the brand. It is black and white--very striking. Seems strange to be talking about sweaters when it is so hot here but I will get a chance to wear them at some point.

Hi Bathina; we miss you. Will be back later.
