Hi Cute. So glad that the roofers are almost finished. What a relief that will be. I agree.....Lucky doesn't have the slightest idea what is going on. All he knows is that people are making such a racket. Has he barked at the roofers?

Hey Snappy. Good to see you. I guess that right about now, you are having your new windows installed. I think that you will love them. I haven't bought the new drapes yet. Still deciding on what to get. My living room is painted in a soft beige/egg shell. I have light hardwood floors, lots of earth tones in the furniture, a mahogony grand piano and a big fireplace on one wall. I am thinking about getting a light gold colored, textured window treatment. At least I want something that will let light into the room, and still have privacy.

Hi Danky; nice to meet you. So happy that you decided to join us here. I bet that you could give is some good recipes and cooking tips. I am single--never been married, and I don't have children. I do have 2 older brothers, who are both married--two little nieces and one sweet nephew. I love fashion/jewelry/shopping/crafts/treasure hunting--okay flea markets, etc.

Hello Issy, an thanks for describing, your living room, sounds wonderful..i love the colors, also..yes " LUCKY " Loves to bark, at the Roofers, so I leave the living room, Blinds pulled, so he can't see out..but YES he barks, when he hears all the noise, but they our almost finished, an so he will be a happy camper, but I take him, for lots of walks, an it gets his mind off of it an then he settles down, when back in the house...

Hi cute, YIPPEE, so glad your roof is on! A big mess for sure, but so worth it. Wish you could have gotten the tiles, but I know they are very expensive. Keep hoping ours lasts longer. It's almost 28 years old, and has been repaired several times. We don't get enough rain to test it too much. You are a good "mom" to take Lucky out so he doesn't get too upset about the odd goings on there. Hope you see the bunny while out. The cleaner will be here this afternoon to take down the living room window covering. Hope the curtains don't fall apart during cleaning process. It's a long slider. No other windows in the LR. Faces west so I'm hoping the new double pane slider will help keep it cooler there. DD#1 is coming in the morning to stay here while the men work. DD#2 wishes she could be here, but has to be at work. I just saw the headline about Joan Rivers. Doesn't sound good, but I don't know too much. Sorry.

Issy, good to see you. Your LR color scheme is much like ours. We don't have wood floors, although I think we would like them. Our preference would be for darker wood. Don't see that happening in my lifetime. Our colors on the walls and furniture are much the same as yours. I have a semi-sheer curtain all across the slider with tie back drapes and a valance. Works well out there. That door opens out onto the front courtyard, which is elevated from the street and not very visible at all. There are so many choices, but I know you will find something just right for you.

Hello Everyone !! Well the ROOFERS got done around 9 A.M. as they got here at 5 :30 A.M. an weather was perfect !! so our house / hold is getting back,to normal..Snappy, hoping You got the Windows, an Door put in, an your house will be back,to normal..

it was cloudy an sunny here today.." LUCKY " has been asleep, just about all day,off an on..we saw the Baby Bunny this evening..he was stretched out on the grass, eating..looks so cute..

Hi cute, so glad your roof is finished and things are back to normal at your house. Even when they work outside, it does upset everything. If I had to get up at 4, I'd just stay up since I don't go to bed until around 1. Lowes sent a crew of guys yesterday. They were here about 7 hours working hard the whole time. They were such nice men and did a great job putting in the windows and doors and cleaning up after themselves. We really like the look, and as soon as they put one in, I saw a difference in the glare. There's a slight green cast, but after while you forget about it. The vinyl is almond colored which goes well with the house inside and out. Feels so modern, and we got rid of all the old torn screens. It's at least 95 outside but I don't have the AC on yet. I know I will turn it on in a little while in order to cool things before bed time. DD#1 came out with Amber and spent most of the day here. DD#2 had to be at work, and it was good to have someone else here. I was concerned they might find termites in the frames, but they didn't. So thankful for that.

Glad Lucky got through all that noise and know he is extra tired. Amber was sort of skittish about the noise here yesterday. DD kept her in the house because the gate was open and she was afraid she would run off. She was tired last night also.

Stopped by to say HELLO to everyone....DH got home safely. I picked him up in Providence and we went on to our summer place here in RI...don't know how long we will stay..depends mostly on weather and how long it takes us to close up for the winter......and how many kids and grands show up to beach it ! Glad you gals have your construction projects over and done with...they tend to be so disruptive to the everyday ebb and flow. Have a safe holiday weekend.

Hi Danky, thanks for the visit. So glad your hubby got home safely. Must have lots of stories to tell. Do you ever go with him when he's on work assignments? Oh boy, a summer place at the beach! That would have been a dream for me, but hubby didn't much like the beach. Maybe because he was a blue eyed red head who got burned so easily. I'm sure your place will be a magnet for kids and grands for sure. Safe travels when you return home.
