@CelticCrafter Agree........... Trash guys pick up?   Yea - Sure  = not gonna happen

If trash is on the ground it's left there for the homeowner to clean up.  (and I don't blame them)

I wouldn't like it either. It was inconsiderate.  If it was an elderly neighbor or someone who asked your permission that would be different. Hopefully, it won't happen again. If it does, you may want to put a sign on it saying, "this spot is for our garbage and our's only".

We have bear that like to strew our garbage. I haven't had garbage pick up for two months. There is a road ban in the Spring for 6 tons or more due to Spring thaw for side roads Happens every year. My company offers a one hour pick up on Thursday at a parking lot which is totally inconvenient for most. One company ran a small truck but quit. One neighbor was told to take her garbage to the dump  and they would cover it  with her bill ,but she was charged $33 . We are not offered any refund for no curbside pickup no matter what company.

I noticed Wal-Mart took out the cans in the parking lot, maybe temporary? I saw one man open his SUV and unload garbage years ago. I took his licence number and told the mgr. who seemed unconcerned.  I know of people who have a habit of doi g this. People are jerks and selfish slobs, but be grateful you still have pick up. Maybe they were afraid of you seeing them drop off the bag? Mine resumes May 1st.  Joys of small town living.

I hope this is just a one time occurrence.

One local trash hauler put a notice in the paper that they would not pick up anything unless it was securely tied in a plastic bag.  If animals got into the trash, they will no longer pick up stuff that is scattered.  This is due to the covid-19 problem, but it seems a good policy going into the future.  These people shouldn't be treated like servants.  They are a business.

One more thing....It could be someone trying to get rid of evidence.  Were there needles in it?

We have two trash cans for pickup, the city only supplies one, we purchased the extra can and pay an extra $15 per month for pickup fees.  Our neighbor has a large family and late at night she fills my cans with her extra trash that does not fit in hers. She never asked, always sneaky. Now we put the trash cans out in the morning.

She didnt have gloves and had to pick up someone else's garbage....who knows if these people who left the trash by her garbage can were infected, had symptoms, or were in in contact with an infected person....  So her vent was very relevant!

Probably the same reason, and people, that throw their paper cups etc on the ground when there is a trash receptacle right next to them. If they are adults, my guess is they didn't just get that way. Heck, somebody will/has to pick it up!

Garbage and trash - I HATE IT! I HATE lazy stupid people who just cannot seem nor do they care to toss their trash in a trash can.

Why do they do this?????

Do they live like this in their home????

@catter70   You're lucky you don't have 300 gallon dumpsters that works for 2 households lined in alleys as they are where I live. Not only do people miss these huge cans, the one person garbage trucks who mechanically lift to dump always drop residual trash and garbage in the alleys. We are among few homeowners and many college kids in the hood, me being a perm resident always out there needing to clean up the alley, junk on the ground that I must clean up. If I don't do this, it doesn't get happen.

I absolutely HATE TRASH everywhere!!!!

@PINKdogWOOD

Yep, I totally understand what you are saying ....SOME PEOPLE ARE PIGS!!!  In our Condo Complex there are a couple neighbors that just throw their trash all over and even into the street.  They open their car and clean it out!!! ......One time it was paper plates with half-eaten birthday cake just thrown on their lawn and into their neighbors yard too....did I mention he's a cop!!!

I used to pick the trash up because it made our neighborhood look bad, but now I just report them.....and the COA sends someone by to pick it up and send them a COA violation which results in fines and other consequences.....I hope they like throwing money away (pun intended)
