Remembrance is for the living and doing so in whatever form they elect is entirely up to them and their preferences with the exception being if the deceased had it made know what they wanted. If nothing was said concerning what to do with the ashes then it is again optional.

Re: cremation jewelry

It's definitely a very individual thing.  No right or wrong here.   We buried Dad in July.  I was thinking of him a lot yesterday.  Yesterday would have been his 89th birthday.  For me, personally, I like to think of him doing his favorite thing....golf.  I prefer not to think of him in ashes but with his new healthy body enjoying a good game of golf with Arnold Palmer on a very beautiful golf course in Heaven!  Dad was a great golfer.  He will give Arnold a run for his money!

This came up in the final season of Law & Order.  The widow (played by "Breaking Bad"s Anna Gunn) had had her 1st husband's cremains made into a pendant.  And at the end, she sent Connie Rubirosa a set of matching earrings.

I told dh about the diamond creation from ashes and he thought that was pretty cool.
