This one I almost quit. One year the only summer job I could get in my small town, was in it's local sewing factory. I couldn't sew, but that didn't seem to be an issue LOL.  No one showed me how to use the power machine, I was screamed at by the union rep for not going on break, the goons handing out the piecework bundles called me a @#$& schoolgirl. The final straw was when I cut my hand open with the ripper . I'm stubborn, but they broke me, Imean I was 16. I told the forelady that I quit, but they must have been desperate for bodies, because she put me on packing ( because I was such a good worker) LOL. Anyway for the rest of that summer I packed lingerie in a hot ,miserable , factory . I had nowhere to go but up.

@QVCkitty1 Welcome!🥰 Awwwwwww! Ouch!!! My heart bled for you as I began reading your story.💔  I hate that you were treated SO poorly, at such a young age, but I quickly smiled as I read that you were transferred to a more "favorable" work environment; although still miserable!!I LOVE❤ a "kinda" happy ending!😊

THANK you SO much for caring to share your worst job story this afternoon!🤗

@Zezey Welcome!🥰  I enjoyed reading how rewarding your job as a hospice nurse was for you!❤ Those attributes, gratification, LOVE❤ and strength you acquired will remain with you ALWAYS! You are a better person because of the "gifts" you received from having dedicated yourself to such a vulnerable population.❤

THANK you SO much for caring to share your heart hugging words of your favorite job today!🤗

@SandySparkles , For the majority of my packing career I was working with garments with feathers. The feathers flew all  over the room and ended up In eyes, nose and ears, good times. 😂😂😂

Re: Your FAVORITE Or WORST Job And Why?

My favorite (and current) job is police dispatcher.  Have been doing it since I was 20.  We won't discuss how long that is.  LOL. That's where I met my husband and subsequently had my children.  I love the fast paced atmosphere of the job, no 2 days are ever alike and I like doing my part of helping others. Heart

As a long time Kaiser Member. I want to apologize for all of the rude customers that you have to deal with. I don't understand why people would be rude to the representatives on the phone or when you check in. (SMH)

I love Kaiser by the way.

Most appointments nowadays are made online, which is very convenient.

There are some appointments you do have to speak to the department to cancel, or change.

Since I was an RN for 40 years I had no other jobs.

My favorite was oncology unit.

My least favorite was cardiac unit.

I'm curious, why was the Cardiac Unit your least??

Nevermind, I found an answer after I read your blog.  I'm so sorry you felt that way.  I just had open heart surgery and I found the doctors to be great, but I was the patient!!!!  The nurses were the best though.

@SloopJohnB Welcome!🥰  I COMMEND you for your service with law enforcement as a dispatcher! Your job is perhaps the MOST important! How a call is handled or NOT can mean the difference between life and death! It is a plus that you LOVE❤ the job after the many years you have been there!😁

THANK you SO much for caring to share your important job this evening!🤗

Re: Your FAVORITE Or WORST Job And Why?

Before I became a teacher, I had many PT jobs while in college. One of my favorites was a switchboard operator for H&R Block.  Of  course, it was only from January through April.  My hours were 12:00 pm-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.  Gave me time to attend my morning classes, eat an earl lunch and then go into work.

Another of my favorites was a Kindergarten "teacher" in a daycare center.  I went in from 3;00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday-Friday.  Still had time to attend classes, go to my grandmother's house, who lived close to work (she would feed meSmiley Happy) and make it to work.

These two jobs were perfect for a college student.  I had time in the evenings to complete my homework and study. Being off on the weekends also gave me time to study.

I'm not short...I'm fun size!
