I don't know what anyone's situation is so I'm not going to comment that there is more to life than tv. For people who are homebound, tv may be a big part of their life. There are people who enjoy watching QVC for hours, maybe even 24/7.
That's me quite often. There are other channels or books, there's also a second QVC channel.
Getting upset about something as unimportant as that is bad for someone's heath. So many little things really set some people off. Walk away from the small irritants.

When I was younger, I loved anything Christmas in July. For a few years, I even had a luncheon on July 25th at my house. I think the older we get, the faster time goes by, and we want to enjoy each day. I know I don't want to rush the seasons. I love all of them, and I want to enjoy them as they come. Summer, my favorite, is short enough. I cringe when I think certain hosts will start mentioning leather boots on July 4th. ![]()

I enjoy the Christmas shows but even I - an avid Christmas decorator - has a limit to how much of this I want to watch. From July 25 on they will feature Christmas JUNK every 25th of the month. Besides I already have more Christmas stuff than I can use. Every year I have some things I have to not put out because I just don't have the room.

@151949 Maybe on the 1st, but on July 25, mostly new.

@hoosieroriginal I feel the same way about months and months and months of beauty and fashion.

I don't mind things like lanterns...candles......swags.....figurines....
but I don't want to buy prelit Christmas trees or see the same 'gifts (that flash pad...that glow in the dark car and track or flashlights) that we see over and over and over and over until Jan.

That's the last thing I am thinking about, we haven't even had the 4th of July yet!!!!!! There is still a lot more summer, hopefully!!!!!

I avoid the Christmas in July thing. No to the Hallmark movies (although I don't watch those at Christmastime - it's rinse and repeat), and I don't even think about the holiday until after Thanksgiving. I know many enjoy it, and more power to you, but I like to celebrate one holiday and one season at a time.

AMEN!
We put up with days and days on end of fashion, beauty, jewelry, shoes and handbags, with no relief most of the year.
A few times a year we get a cooking event, or some all day holiday events and 'their' world is coming to an end.
I guess some people were simply not taught to share (air time)!

I like Christmas in July but even I won't be watching ALL DAY. Plenty of other things to do in the Good Old Summertime. For me it's the fact that the prices are the lowest they are going to be and since I'm not a decorating Wiz I need from now 'til Epiphany to be ready for Christmas. The decorating shows are food for thought for me, the endless parade of toy for young and old are a pass. Choose what you want to see, do something else the other times.
