Why is it even on people's radar?  No one is being forced to watch.

Switch channels, turn off the tv, read, take a walk.

I don't understand why this is such a big deal for some people.  Television is not all there is to life.

Hi @Noel7!  That's me.  I don't care one way or another in regard to Christmas in July.  If I am in the mood, I would watch.  If not....it is on to other things.    I did order the TSV and watched QVC for a few minutes.  Then switched it over to CNBC and saw info about a company coming out with non-laundry biodegrade bed linens & pizza making robots.  Interesting.

Now it is on to the grocery. I actually should already be there, but I got sidetracked.  Lol!

I've loved that London lantern for a couple of years so I finally ordered it in bronze, perfect for the fireplace mantle, November through the winter.

I also got the TSV, it's so much easier than wrapping Smiley Happy

I just think it is just a bold grab for money.  Nothing to do with the holiday itself.   Why not have halloween in june, Easter in september......

Watching the Hallmark channel Christmas movies and enjoying them very much.

Wishing you all:

@chicletOn the one hand you're right about a sellers reason for Christmas in july programing.  On the OTHER hand, the unofficial widely accepted explaination is that Christmas in July started in Austrailia where July falls their WINTER weather season.  It's just a reason to have fun.

@chiclet

Strictly speaking, this time of year has more to do with the birth commemoration than does December 25.

Most theologians agree it occurred earlier in the year, most likely in spring.

I was flipping through channels at my sisters earlier and there it was Christmas in July!

They did a promo for poo pouri.  Whaa??

There are holidays poo pouris?

I'm all for Christmas and I'm all for July, but I think it would be cooler if they did it in June.  As in June 25th-ish.  You know to be a six month out stint....

July is just .... weird.

One of the shows I watch on Hallmark Channel had their Christmas in July on today.  So it's not just QVC that does this.

But poo pouri????

To me it is crass commercialism and somehow cheapens Christmas.

Don't get me wrong, I adore the Christmas season, love to decorate for Christmas (always put everything up the day after Thanksgiving and leave it up until the first or second week in January), and really enjoy Christmas shows with Valerie, etc. in late October going forward.

But having these day-long Christmas marathons in July really does not appeal to me in the slightest! And I never watch!  But obviously it does appeal to many, or else QVC would not do it each year!
