I try to shop local but....

I find what I need on Amazon....same price or cheaper....free shipping with prime and next day delivery.

 I called three  pet stores locally  looking for a specific brand of healthy dog treat...none had them. Only Amazon and Chewy dot com.  Amazon got the sale  with next day delivery.

No wonder B&M stores are going out of business

I find much better deals on Ebay, than I usually do on Amazon, always check both sites. And I love getting my Ebay Bonus Bucks.

I try to shop local...but my rural area doesn't offer a lot of choices; and the "mom and pop shops" that are here often don't even carry what I am looking for, nevermind price.  So when Walmart "moved in," I was glad to be able to find things I needed that I hadn't been able to find locally before.  

No wonder the mom and pop shops close when Walmart comes to town.

That and Walmart can sell in volume while small mom & pop stores can't, and Walmart can undercut the small mom & pop stores in prices.

That's why small stores go out of business when Walmart comes to town.

I'm glad that works for you, @Shelbelle , but I don't see the comparison. Assuming one is a Prime member, you always get free and quick shipping and usually free returns. Plus, there are actually easy ways to contact Amazon if you have a problem

I used to haunt eBay quite frequently; now I may search for something once in a blue moon because I can't find it elsewhere.

I hardly ever order anything for myself on amazon.  I do find it helpful when shopping for my mother.  She doesn't live close and often doesn't let me know she's low on something until she's out.  For the most part, the prices are ok.  Every now and then I struggle to hit the buy button.

i always check both sites and Ebay just about always comes out miles ahead of Amazon as far as price, sometimes as much as half the price of Amazon. it just works so much better for me much of the time. I dont have Prime, would not use it enough to make a real difference for me. .

Amazon is one reason I rarely shop at QVC. Q's customer service is awful, returns are expensive and their prices are beatable.
