Re: Why Do We Like Retirement?

I love retirement and not one day goes by when I don't count my blessings.  Total freedom to do what you want , whenever you want.  I remember taking the bus into the city and there would be a stop by one of the garden house complexes.  It was uncanny that when the bus stopped at this particular unit, and since the bus was on schedule, it would always be around the same time, a woman would open her door in her bathrob and take in her paper.  I would think, how wonderful. She is probably having a cup of coffee, taking her time, and doing anything she wants to do.  No more cramming everything you need to do over the two day weekend.  Waiting for a few measly weeks off once a year, no more office baloney (cannot use the word I would have preferred), no office politics.  No waiting for the bus or trains in freezing weather, or during the hot summer.  I love, love, love, retirement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  What is there not to like?

Re: Why Do We Like Retirement?

You lovely people are making me look forward to retirement.  I think having reasonably good health is what is important.  That, along with some retirement savings, seem to allow people over 60 enjoy their retirement years.
