I've lived in Chicago, Arizona, Northern California and New Mexico.  Is there a perfect place?

@jaxs mom

Our nephew (who is Emergency Management for Amarillo) left home on Saturday night to go into the center with a packed suitcase --(he was told that they would probably be snowed in at the office overnight). His wife and baby son are safely at home.

We will check in on them in a minute to see how they fared through the night... hope the temps rose, but I'm thinking not based on the weather in the middle of the night.

So happy the wind here in Amarillo has stopped blowing and we didn't get as much snow as predicted!

small world 'isaboo' LOL

Yep, folks the howlering winds are just about dead or as dead as they can be in Tx. LOL Suppose to be down to 7 mph by noon. Seems so quiet !

I'm not complaining. Our streets are clear don't think we got the snow they anticipated. I'm waiting till Wed and going to Lowe's to get me a new porch light no more chain suspended fixtures ! I sweated all week end what if it keeps spinning wildly and cracks my transom glass. Who would I call? no one is coming out on holiday weekend. I'm nipping that in the bud and getting a hug to the ceiling light may not be as pretty, but, I can live with it.

Glad this nightmare is over.

In honor of the windmill I bought last Mon. it was decapitated by Fri. now all I have is the base. LOL 130 down the drain. Winds didn't take my boulder rock though !

We got a decent amount of snow last night. I'm not getting out without a lot of shoveling.

freezing rain and snow all night and some today until 6 pm. More ice than snow but changing to snow this afternoon in the Kansas City area. I heard there were a lot of wrecks on the news.
