I have been thinking about how a meat shortage will seriously hamper the already suffering restaurant industry. It will be tough enough for them to make a comeback after being closed for so long. Not being able to offer meat dishes or very few meat choices won't do any good for their business.

@Kachina624. The OP wasn't asking for alternative suggestions. 👎

I've read that four out of five small restaurants will go under.  It's a tough business in the best of times.

Does not sound like something to worry about....

While I am well aware of a possible if not probable meat shortage, it could be just they didn't order enough and the truck didn't come yet.

So order a chicken sandwich or salad.

@Kachina624, not everyone likes chicken or wants a salad.  I don't order a salad from a fast food place.  I think they are gross.

@SeaMaiden, I can multi-task and worry about more than one thing.  And this isn't just as simple as being about hamburger meat.  There are a lot of restaurants/eateries that serve burgers as their main food choice.

@Diva on The Q    Sounds like she won't have much choice if she's eating at Wendy's.  Other fast food restaurants will be in the same boat.

@Kachina624,  t;hey eventually if this drags out long enough but Wendy's is particularly vulnerable because they source regionally and only use fresh, never frozen, meat unlike other burger places that use frozen and likely have a good supply in storage.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

Some Wendy's are low on, or out of beef. In some locations there are no burgers on the menu right now. In other locations they are not serving burger items within contain multiple beef patties.

Wendy's without burgers is like a hairdresser without scissors.

@Lipstickdiva  So eat something else?
