as the driver what is the FIRST thing you do once seated and the door closed?

Depends where I am.  In a parking lot, a parking garage, etc., first thing I do is lock my doors.  At home in my driveway, I start the car and shift to reverse and let the car lock itself.  Seat belt is next.
