@SandySparkles - I joined in December 2010. Shortly after, a poster mentioned something about staying away from a particular forum. I listened for a while, then decided to "jump in"!

I enjoy the boards so much! I've learned so much, and I appreciate all of the instruction and advice. 

Like all of us I have my "IRL" friends, but they don't understand my wanting to shop at QVC. My closest friends have never said anything negative, but some of my other friends joke about it. What THEY don't get is posters here understand me too, and there are posters I look forward to "seeing" online.

So thank you to you and to everyone else here. Whether you are someone whose recommendations I trust, or someone with whom I can gracefully disagree, you have made my life better!

The boards have changed in the sense that some of the crabby-pants people have moved on. I remember one in particular, had a little ring of support around her, who were zealots. They ate posters for lunch. If you didn't agree with her, you were toast! She was a right-fighter and it was her way or the highway! Her thumb was out for the karma bus and the mods took care of her. So much nicer now!

@ID2 Welcome!🥰 I see it, and am sometimes targeted by it, but I just do NOT give it energy, because that is allowing another person to control your emotions!😄 I will never grant anyone that kind of power here, and just consider the source.😁 Some of these people might actually be nice when not wearing the virtual cloak of anonymity!😄🤷‍♀️

@Stray Welcome!🥰 WOW! I am sorry you had that experience but it is certainly not a unique occurrence here!😁

I was targeted today, and all I could do was LAUGH, because their "insults" only mattered to them, but the laugh felt SO good.😂 I only wish I had thanked them.😁 I do however understand some people are sensitive and easily hurt, and THEY are who I feel sad for.❤

I signed up to the forums around 2005.  We were going on our first cruise on Princess in January of 2006.  I don't remember the forums being as contentious/snarky as they can be now.  Maybe they were but I wasn't as involved as I am now. I was hanging out in the Diamonique forum back then.
