Since I don't love having my picture taken, many of the ones of me now are candid shots. So I don't have a chance to pose. I really have an idea of what I actually look like from those. From all the unflattering angles.

I like what I see in the mirror. That's all that matters to me. ![]()

Photos are just captured and still brief moments of time.
Photography is defined as the ART, APPLICATION and PROCESS of creating images.
Professional photographers and models recognize that light, pose, eye gaze, face tilt, smile, and even plain luck can all have an impact on the quality of a photograph.
It does take effort to stage and arrange a setting and the subject for a wonderful photo.
One can take hundreds of photos and discover that only a few truly meet high quality artistic standards!
Yet, everybody and everything can be made to look beautiful and fascinating in a photo.
When other people look at us they see the way we move, our smiles, our eyes, our thoughts in action, our interactions with friends and family, our celebration of life. All of us are much more than a brief moment in time.
My recommendation is take many, many photos until you find one or a few that you really like. That is no reflection on you--YOU are beautiful! You just have not yet had the best image captured yet!

@Grouchomarx wrote:Do you believe what you truly look like to others is your image in the mirror or how you look in photos and selfies? I read an article that said the photos are more accurate than the mirror. However, I think I look lousy in most photos so this must mean I am actually must uglier than I think I am. What do you think?
@Grouchomarx No offense, but I’d rather not think about it. My illness has not been kind.😌

If I thought I looked as bad as I do in photos, I’d never leave the house.

Yep, at the happiest place on earth... My husband didn't hear it nor did I tell him until after we left.. it was all I could do to contain my heart and tears up in my throat..
Some people have no class, they just spew stuff of their mouths regardless if they hurt someone or not...
I considered the source and without being banned by our moderators, what I called him under my breath shall remain silent.
