@CelticCrafter Most burger establishments already had alternative choices, over the typical beef burger. Chicken burgers, salads, meatless side dishes, like chili and soups, etc. So there are many reasons to go to a burger joint, without getting a burger. It might be just to meet up with friends who are gathering for the real deal.
Now I'm glad to see that there is more emphasis on the meatless burger. I no longer eat red meat, but loved burgers when younger. Alternative pseudo meat :-), now gives me the ability to have something similar to what I previously enjoyed. It helped me through a transition period of eliminating red meat.
I also think it's a great way to introduce the young crowd to testing out healthier dietary options. If they're tasty, and most I've tried are, these folks may be hooked early on to the advantages.
You do need to watch the sodium content of some alternatives. Let's face it, with the ingredients used, without lots of seasoning, you can have a bland patty.
Even if you are hospitalized for any condition recommening lower sodium diet, you won't be able to order a veggie burger. Trust me, I just went in for overnight cardiac monitoring (for PVCs) and they wouldn't give me one. The dietician even called to warn me about veggie burgers -- and I have never been placed on a low sodium diet, this was simply an act of prevention.

No. The fake food will kill the human race before it goes that far. Surely you can see how sick the world is from the fake food consumed already...

Eww....I’ll stick with good old veggie burgers. Burger King makes a good one. I think they use Morningstar. I buy Dr. Praegers for home. Very delicious.
Burger King's Impossible burger if from Impossible Farms, being discussed here.

I’m downright shocked at how people commenting in this thread are so incapable of understanding the purpose of this product. This product is not made for vegetarians, it’s made for meat eaters who may want to steer toward a vegetarian lifestyle. Frankenmeat? It’s a veggie burger, folks. Take away the words they use to name it, and it’s a VEGGIE BURGER, FOLKS. It’s all natural, including the substance created to give it a meat colored look. It’s vegetables in a different form and people are like, “ew, no, gross!” How old are some of you?

I am old enough to decide for myself, what looks gross to me, and what doesn't..Bon Apetit

The All Natural Veggie Burger consists of:
Soy Protein Concentrate
Coconut Oil
Sunflower Oil
2% or less Potato Protein and Soy Protein Isolate
There are other ingredients that don't resemble veggies at all, and quite frankly, the list above is a far cry from the veggies I put on my plate every day.
Yeah, I think a soy protein concentrate and oil burger is pretty gross.
And I'm old enough to know what vegetables are.

@QueenDanceALot You’re right. Grinding up plants, vegetables, beans and oils is pretty gross. It’s much less gross to murder a living creature, tear the flesh from its rotting carcass, cook it up and digest it.

Earlier I said that both are gross.
IMO, there are much better options out there for veggie burgers. But if you like the soy and oil burger, well,
Bon appetit!

@QueenDanceALot Soy and oil are protein and fat, except they are natural protein and fat. Do you not think real meat has protein and fat in it?
