I read, hear and see all these stunts going on and wonder...what in the world is happening? Is it people just don't care anymore? Is it everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame? Is it that decency is disappearing? Really leaves me questioning 'why' and really quite sad for the future...

So glad your scary encounter didn't cause you any harm...always smart to pull into a police station if you think you are being followed or sense danger. Luckily, we have a large police precinct station only a couple of miles from where we live. I once pulled into the parking lot and drove as close to the front door as possible when a guy was following me....he even pulled in behind me there, then changed his mind and took off.
I see all sorts of eye-level surveillance cameras in WM on the makeup aisles...they don't even looked wired and I figure they are there as a deterrent, but useless. People are so brazen now, they steal in front of anyone, including security cameras, knowing they will not be confronted or charged with anything. I never buy any cosmetic unless it is factory sealed. Today, with face masks being required most places and wearing a hood up on your head, most anyone can be anonymous.

Both posts of yours I just read (one here and the other in the Michigan shooter thread) are very well written, constructive, and sensible. Thank you.

I remember hearing of a woman that was arrested in a Walmart this year for peeing on a bag of potatoes. I can’t remember if it was local or national news. People are nuts. Yep, 15 minutes of fame.
edited: it was local, but it was 2019, not this year.

It's all about Tik-Tok and making disgusting video's. Yes, you could say getting ones fifteen minutes of fame. Tik-tok
is owned by Bytedance, one of the most influential companies in China.

I had a box of coleslaw from a grocery store deli that spilled all over me when I went to put it away after my trip to the store. Needless to say I literally turned around and went back to the store to return it.
Next time around I asked the clerk attending the counter to check it for me and see if it was properly sealed. My point: I was afraid to open it myself. Who knows I could have been in trouble for checking.
It has gotten that bad that honest intentions could be taken for tampering.
These BAD people have made it hard to even do the honest thing.

I wonder if we don't have more people in bad mental states now. Just from what goes on in the streets now, it appears that more people with mental problems are out there.

Wow @Carmie - that's a scary story. That man definitely had a mental issue. Very smart of you to pull into the police parking lot.

@KingstonsMom @RetRN@Corita@Wsmom@Porcelain@Kitcat51@Carmie
It is so sad that there are so many individuals whose behavior has devolved into such disgusting antics. People who purposely record their behavior for their 15 minutes along with those who
are behaving so uncivilised on planes and elsewhere.
It seems that to many of these uncivilised beings, there is no
such thing as manners, morals, dignity or socially acceptable
behavior; never mind care and consideration of others. Also, many
are so self-involved with social media, they are not teaching their children to be civilised members of society.
I am not some ancient judgemental person. Heck, I was the very young "cool" mom, when I raised my five children. I was 28 when I had my fifth child. I was not too lenient and not too
strict. But, I had common sense, a rare commodity today.
My children were raised to be respectful, responsible and most of all, to be kind. I told them " Treat others as you would want to be treated". How many children today are taught that?
Now my grown children are responsible, respectful and self-
sufficient. Not that they did not have a phase of teen attitude at
home. But they were always respectful and even preschool, we
could take them anywhere and strangers would come up to us and comment on how well behaved they were in restaurants and on vacations. We were surprised, since we thought that they were just behaving as one would expect to them to behave in public; just as my husband and I were raised.
But, today though my grandchildren are kind and respectful,
I fear for the future they and my great grandchildren will face,
the way society is going.
I am all for free speech, but these social media platforms need some sort of censorship to discontinue promoting unacceptable behavior.
That is my rant for today.
