There's a fairly new one on lately that has Danny Glover acting out laughing and then crying.  That's a "disease" for which, of course, there is a treatment.  Not only is the disease extra, extra rare (people who laugh and cry with no control over it), but the required warning includes a brain condition which is "usually fatal."  Yes!!  It actually says that!!

********************************************************************************************         Sorry, but that is incorrect.  The commercial does not name the drug.  In fact, the condition Danny Glover is talking about, IS a brain condition.  The condition is called PBA (look it up) and the treatment is Neudexta (treats people with certain brain conditions).  I actually DID the research before posting totally incorrect information.

P.S.  Correct me if I'm wrong please.  The worst side effects of this drug are dizziness, diarrhea, nausea, etc ..... Nowhere did I see anything about a "usually fatal" brain condition.

How did I know I would never get an answer to this post???????  Some people just don't like to admit when they are wrong I guess.

Re: What if QVC started selling pharmaceuticals?

I thought the PBA spot was a PSA and I'm glad
I saw it since I didn't know about it before.
PBA (Pseudobulbar Affect) doesn't look
all that rare to me since it affects
at least 2 million people in the U.S. and from
what I read it's under-reported,
and here are some conditions it's
associated with:

Underlying Neurological Condition:

Alzheimer's Disease or other dementias
Stroke or TIA's
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Parkinson's disease
Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS)
Other Neurologic Conditions

So maybe some of the ads

are helpful.
