Just which facts are you denying, @ALRATIBA ?

BTW, a country without a media that is separate and apart from its government is not a country I would ever want to live in.

Re: What do you think will happen next?

@Buffalogal47  You reminded me of growing up and going to the neighborhood pool.

I think it was around 25 cents for all day.  I'd go with a few friends and stay for hours.

It wasn't real crowded people would come and go.

Quick story.  So my best friend and I decided we wanted to have some boobs and look 'hot' in our one piece suits.

The two of us took some toilet paper and each of us put about 1/2 of a roll and stuffed it in our suits.

Well....after jumping up and down, diving from the side of the pool and having a grand old time....I suddenly heard a cute guy (of course he was cute) hold up something in his hand.  It looked like wet paper.  He kept pulling and pulling.  It was leading right to me.

I quickly pulled the rest out and yelled, "Here's some more.  Where did it come from".  Ha!

My friend went running into the showers and threw her's into the trash.

I never stuffed my bra or bathing suit ever again.  Ha!

That was the same pool where I teaching myself how to swim.  I started off in the 3 ft standing up and got tired of flopping around.  I went to stand up and guess what...it was 8ft deep.

I started choaking and the last thing I remembered is the cute lifeguard pulled me out.  Waking up looking at his cute face was almost (I say almost) worth almost drowning!  Ha!

Some of the crazy things I did and that happened to me...another time..another story.  Hint:  I fell down the sewer on my way to school....in the snow...

@ALRATIBA I don't think that was always the case.  Sadly, it has been lately.

Influence or inform?  Were it not for the media (good, bad or indifferent) would any of us even know where we stand today?

I can think of several sources of influence that I prefer to bypass because they can be harmful to the populace.

@RoughDraft   The media is one sided.   That being said I still don't think we know where we stand today.   Too many differences of opinions.   More confusing than helpful

@Junebug54,  we may not know where we stand but we certainly know where we don't stand.

If people want to watch a "The sky is green" channel they can. But the sky is still blue. There's no both sides about that.

Well, all we can do is keep away, keep safe, be careful.

It's 'a sign of the times', so to speak.

Be careful.

It's just a few countries where the leaders are turning away and letting COVID spread unopposed. No one knows why.

@Porcelain, I agree with half of your post. Heart

Re: Polio.............I was a young child, and we were taught to not go near natural bodies of water, too.   Beaches, oceans, lakes, ponds, rivers, etc., etc.

So, we didn't.  And that was that.

Re: What do you think will happen next?

@ROMARY  I grew up on the time of polio. I also grew up on the water. Was in ocean, bay or pool every day in the summer as were the siblings. Guess who got polio? My Aunt who lived inland and never went swimming. Thank Goodness she recovered.
