Re: What are you doing for your Mother on Mother's Day?

My mother passed away 15 years ago, I'll be thinking about her on Mother's Day.  But I will be spending the day with my own daughters and their hubbies and my precious grandbabies.  It will be a fun day!   Hubby is an RN and a born caretaker.  He's an RN and volunteered to do a 12 hour shift so a couple of the RN's who are young moms could work half a day.

My 2 daughters and my 3 sisters and I are taking my Mom to lunch on Saturday to a restaurant, that she has always wanted to try since it opened, and then on Sunday we are all going to church with her and having lunch after church. Her church is sponsoring a Mother's Day Lunch after service.....Should be very nice!

This is my first Mother's Day without Mom.  She passed Thanksgiving week.  I'm going to the cemetery and to see Dad.

Everyone, reach out and hug your moms, tell her your love her.

@CalminHeart I am so sorry.  The first year is the hardest IMO.  Take care of yourself. Heart

Having special thoughts and memories of her on the 5th anniversary of her death, May 13, 2013.  My son and ddl are cooking for me in their home since my grandson was just born 3 weeks ago.  None of us want to venture into a restaurant with a newborn and a three year old toddler when the backyard and grill is so inviting.

Re: What are you doing for your Mother on Mother's Day?

My mom passed away in 1979 fro heart disease. I'm going to the cemetery Mothers Day and my kids will probably come over later on. I buy my daughter a little something since she is a mom. Otherwise, I am not a fan of Mothers Day since losing my mom, but I always tried to make the best of it for my kids. Not a fan of fathers day either since my dad died 7 years ago.

Enjoy the day, Cherish your moms.

[ Edited ]

She died 15 years ago and had her ashes scattered so I can't do anything (even if I were inclined to, which iI'm not--she was a bad mother).

ETA: I sure do envy some of you that had wonderful mothers. Consider (although I'm sure you already know) what a blessing she was.

For myself, I really don't need anything so I asked my son to make a donation in my name (since his employer matches donations) to a local cat shelter.
