@Moonchilde wrote:LOL the excuse that such posts are "bad for QVC's image" and blaming them on the moderation. I seriously doubt anyone here worries about QVC's image, they just trot that out in "Moderation" threads, among other slaps at moderation as they feel they can manage.
If there were no such posts and no inappropriateness on the forums ever, the complaints would then be that moderation had ruined the forums. There will *always* be things blamed on the moderators.
If people want to "blame" an entity why not blame QVC corporate, which provides the money and the rules for what the moderators are/are not able to/allowed to do/asked to do.
If corporate is okay with no moderation on a major holiday, then they are also okay with possible repercussions. I haven't seen any internet headlines about this or other attacks, expressing outrage over the words QVC "allowed" on their forums by not having stricter filters. LOL.
I don't "worry" about QVC's image, but I would if I owned the site. This site is not in a closed system, it is searchable and viewable by anyone, and if it was my company, I would not like that kind of language on my site.

My point was that QVC understands that might happen and has decided they can live with it for 36-48 hrs as opposed to denying CS a holiday and/or paying them double time. We don't really know what the decision is based on but we do know it was a decision that was made.
There are disclaimers on every site on the internet that the opinions of others do not reflect the company's own. That pretty much covers it for any short term, until they get to it.
