Re: We need some NEW Vendors

In the past two years, QVC has dropped some older vendors and added a whole bunch of new fashion and cosmetic vendors.  A lot goes into brining new vendors in, so we aren't going to see new ones on a monthly basis.  I agree about the organic skincare, that's a big market now and I don't think....I could be wrong....that QVC has anything like that.  Regardless of what they say, QVC isn't committed to jewelry the way they were in the past.  Judith Ripka is their principal jewelry designer.

I would like it if they would bring smaller brands that not many people know about.  That would be much more interesting than selling the same big brands that are available a lot of other places...often for less money.

If people keep buying what they offer, they will keep offering it.  There seem to be a lot of D&C, SG and other vendors that people are addicted to so I see no reason for QVC to change the marketing strategy, unfortunately.

Looking at how bad the last quarterly report was and how marginal they've now been for some time, I can see plenty of reason, and the highly paid executives they employ should too.. Unfortunately, they keep doing the same thing and expecting different results and we all know what that signifies...

@Katcat1  Do you remember Dominique Dinouart ?   She went from QVC to Evine and has very contemporary pieces. You might go there and look at what she has.

When you have vendors picking up tops to see booties -- no wonder no one wants to come to the Q.  They definitely need to clean up the act.  I am not against dancing and having fun but when you target one area of the body that is so tasteless.  I noticed we have more shoe vendors but lack in the beauty, jewelry & fashion areas.  Yes, we can keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.  p.s.  I would love to see Laura Mercier come to the Q like Bobbi Brown did in the beginning every so often but we had something to look forward to and boy do I miss Michael Dawkins jewelry.  :catvery-happy:

I doubt the Q is losing out on vendors because one fashion line does this.    This is especially true since they did have a Kardashian line of clothing.  Get a grip.

Apparently what they are selling is flying out the door.  That is why they get so much on-air time.

Re: We need some NEW Vendors

WE don't know if the Q dropped them or did they drop the Q?

It's hard being a seller to any home shopping channels, the inventory isn't necessarily purchased.  It's not like Macy's, Bon Ton etc, that actually preorder and purchase it.

From my understanding, the product is actually consigned and if not sold, its not paid for.  Also, you need to take into account the customer has 30 days to return and that's all taken into consideration.  So, in theory you as the supplier wouldn't get a check for at least 90 days.  That's a huge cost to a supplier, your merchandise literally has to sit for that long until you get a check for it.  In todays business, people need cash flow so it's hard selling to shopping channels.  The only benefit for the supplier is that they have such a huge audience where that's impossible in let's say a Macy's.
