I'm not a fan of SS either. Makes me think of an OR: "White lights and cold steel"

Anyway, we're going to redo our kitchen in a little over a year. Not sure what we'll choose but I do know I'd like 2 ovens for when we're doing holiday meals.

Yes, we did. And or the same reason they now seem to redesign cars every single year.

As for this, good. I never liked the stainless trend and continue to prefer white, even though this is clearly a new and more, uh, upscale white...

Every time I say I want double ovens my husband cracks up

because I have never used the one I now have...

When we built our new home I had quartz counter tops put in instead of granite. Heard you had to have them refinished every so often. Quartz , is top of the line and worry free. I hate maintaining stuff. LOL

Oh, I get that everyone has their own personal tastes. I just thought the words "cold" and "morgue" sounded strange. Here are some pictures of my black granite and stainless kitchen. I get that it won't please everyone, and that's fine--it only has to please my husband and me. But does it look either "cold" or like a "morgue"? I don't think so.

Love the Santa Hats on the backs of the chairs. Nice touch for the holidays.

We just got Silver Pearl granite, some black/charcoal and a little pearl for bling and the stainless appliances and I love it with the wood cabinets . . . but I think we'll go for tile as we will have wood everywhere else . .. I'm just afraid I'd make a mess of the wood in a kitchen

you're correct it is................for now............there is a new c-top surface coming out called Dexcon.........this is amazing stuff.........they took a blow torch to it and NO thermal shock, no scorching, nothing.............then they took spray paint to it.......let it dry and it cleaned off with water and a towel.............then a permanent marker.......washed off with water........but they saved the BEST for last...........that guy took a flat head screwdriver to the surface and he was hitting it so hard sparks were flying off........NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH...........should be out in the next month......very limited colors at first..........around six to eight and all monochromatic........but it's AWESOME..........................................raven
