Re: We knew this was around the corner....

When I was appliance shopping two months ago . . . I recall seeing the White Ice and they were at a slightly premium price and not many models to choose from.

p.s. our Washer and Dryer we replaced about 3 years ago . . . with RED . . . were from the Almond phase . . . and were about 19 years old. Anyone remember the Almond phase?

i have all white appliances in my kitchen. I love the look. Stainless looks like an operating room or as stated, a morgue.

I don't mind white (we have stainless), but I don't like the white ice at all. Looks like they ran out of matching handles, so just slapped some SS ones on it. Looks cheap, to me.

The article is from July, 2012

That said I don't think I'll buy a fridge on Apple's rec's.

I really like it. I've never been crazy about all stainless, due to the cold appearance and the difficulty cleaning the fingerprints. I think it's definitely an improvement and will fit in well with stainless kitchens.

ITA, Topaz. I have never really cared for stainless in my kitchen. It looks too industrial or something. I think it looks better in restaurant kitchen, and not in a home setting.

rondell I agree. I hate to say it but all that stainless always reminded me of a morgue. Very cold looking. I love the metallic copper refrigerator, photo above. That is so warm and pretty. I'm happy with what I have.

Whatever makes people happy is fine with me!

Me, too, sunny! I don't recall ever seeing anything done with that finish when looking around in stores. It sure is pretty, and would warm up any kitchen. I could live with it, but I'm like you, and am very happy with what I have.

This is no longer popular, but about 9 yrs ago, there was this kitchen look: black granite and stainless steel. I've always thought it looked like the City Morgue.

I would have to agree with you, Burnsite. I don't think even visualizing it sounds appealing. Nice to "see" you by the way.

I have black granite and stainless appliances and my kitchen in no way resembles a morgue. Strange comment.

I like my stainless steel. You can keep the white. It shows too much dirt. LOL

Don't take it personally, CardinalGirl. We're just expressing our opinions about certain finishes.
