We are Finally Having a Winter

Last year it was so mild with no snow and prior years were not much better.  This winter reminds me of when I was growing up and into 20's and 30's.  I am actually enjoying this weather even though right now it is -13 below outside in Chicagoland and we had snow for Christmas.  How's your weather and don't forget to mention your area.  Cat Very Happy

Boston area, 10 below wind chill this morning.   A bit much but I have to say I like when winter acts like winter!!   And there is nothing like a white Christmas in New EnglandSmiley Happy

North-Central Ohio on Lake Erie:  Bitter cold and snow on the ground.  Forecast says no break for a week, then back to “normal”.

Very cool negative 2 degrees here this morning in WI. Our high today will be 10 above. Supposed to be chilly all week and then warming up for the weekend w/ a chance of snow on Sunday.

Re: We are Finally Having a Winter

8 degrees in the Piedmont of VA.  The lowest I've known it here in this exact location is minus 4 (straight up temp, not looking at wind chill).

It's a little silly.  I didn't anticipate this long stretch of plummeting night temps - I should have put my potted pansies in the garage.  Now it's an experiment to see if they survive.

At least we got some rain before this settled in, so the evergreens don't take a hit.  My crape myrtles and hydrangeas may lose all the top growth and have to come from the roots in the spring (if they make it).  Oh - turning this into a gardening thread!

I'm in Chicago and I am NOT enjoying this weather at all.  Can't go for my usual walks, pretty much stuck in the apartment.  Last year was an easy winter and I loved it!!!  Fortunately, heading to Las Vegas next week for an extended time.  Can't wait to defrost!!

@Katcat1

We are still in the 20’s. We had lots of wrecks here on Saturday due to surprise! black ice. We are in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area.

Next week we will be in PA!
