@catter70 I was at Walmart yesterday and shelves are full and they are not counting people coming in the door. Maybe it depends on where you live. I am in Florida
I am in Central Florida and a friend told me last weekend that her daughter, who works at WM, told her that they have gone back to counting again. She said the stores were getting crowded.
They never should have stopped counting of any other safety practices.
@willdob3 You know I have noticed the stores are not nearly as crowded here. I think most people are doing pick up. I buy very little in the stores since Covid. I get what I need fast and get out LOL
I haven’t been in a store since mid-March and I love it! I do WM & Target grocery pickup and love it! I work full time and this saves me so much time in addition to keeping me safer. I think a lot of people here do pickup but more just go to the store. The parking lot at my WM is always full.
@willdob3 I have been buying a lot from Amazon. I try to only go to WM once a month. Usually this time of the year it is packed. I am not sure we have the snow birds here like other years because of Covid. I did ask in store why so many things not stalked and they said they are selling out fast, because people are ordering online. I don't know about you, but I am getting spoiled having everything delivered. LOL

I can hardly stand being in Walmart these days. Here, many people are maskless, cough on produce, touch everything, kids are coughing and snotting, etc. I never see anyone clean around check-outs or carts. I don't blame people for not wanting to work there or in any big box store.
I rarely go into a store. I'll order online and go to drive up at my grocery store to get them without contact. Or I have Walmart deliver.
I actually went into my favorite grocery store yesterday and saw them sanitizing every basket and cart. I waited to unload groceries until the checker sanitizes the counter between each customer and the keyboard on the credit/debit card pad. I saw people cleaning elsewhere in the store too. That made me feel a little better.

I am ordering more from Amazon, too. It is very convenient.
I talk to people from all over through my job. We are still getting snowbirds but not as many. Canadians are staying home but in the US people are all over the place with their thinking on COVID. Some are not leaving their homes, others are waiting until COVID cases are lower, still other act like COVID doesn’t even exist and plan to visit if they aren’t already here.

I am in RI and went to BJ's Wholesale yesterday. While they are not yet counting customers we will be going back to that on November 30th when we will start a 2 week lockdown, again
Numbers have gone up significantly here also. It's a good idea as I feel more and more people will be out shopping for Christmas and that will make it tough to social distance. I'm sad that we have to live this way but am hopeful that the vaccine comes out soon and will be a success for all.
As far as paper products, they were quite low but I was able to purchase some TP, PT and tissues. No limits yet but you can see that coming too. My feeling is it won't be quite as bad as the spring though. Turkeys on the other hand were scarce.

North Western PA here....I was in Walmart on Thursday...the only shortage was on....TURKEYS!!!
NO whole turkeys..Not ONE..I had thought of buying a smaller one ( I live alone)..it didnt' really bother me because I don't care for white meat, will eat it, but not my favorite, so I got chicken thighs and drumsticks instead.
That was the only apparent shortage I saw....everything else looked well stocked.
They had both front doors open, but counters at each door. I go early as possible so it was not too crowded. More elderly people shop that hour, and MOST of them are masked and distanced ( I'm 64). Sefp preservation rules thier day.....
I DID see a few maskless idiots in the aisles, I just turn around and avoid them.
Always gonna be that few entitled jerks who wear the mask in and remove it once inside.
Then they wander the aisles and fresh fruit/veggie areas, with the look of sheer ignorance and defiance on thier entitled faces.
O well. I try not to, but I can hope. Just don't make ME sick, you moronic fools.
Of course in real life, the people like ME who are considerate of others are usually the ones who end up paying. We live in a very small town, little hospital...few ICU beds...if they are full, you're gonna be flighted to the next place which is 75 miles away.
And, NO visitors allowed in ANY of our local hospitals.
I HATE selfish people.

Most everyone at our walmart is masked up...and carts ARE being sanitized and the store is clean...maybe it depends on the manager of the store.

A few thoughts -
1 - Some may have good reasons not to wear a mask (ie asthma - people in my state are exempt for this and other health issues).
2 - It would be better for you to give the benefit of the doubt instead of being so judgmental (ie karma).
3 - I was taught that 'hate' is a four letter word. I think there's too much of it in the world these days and it's sad to see that you're choosing to add to it.
I'll leave it at that.

I am not surprised that they are counting people again at Walmart. I am in SE PA. We drove past a Walmart on Wednesday and Thursday, the parking lot was packed.
We went to Costco. They had 3 lanes open to check out. So there were lines to checkout. Just about everyone had toilet paper in their cart. I had nothing else to do while you are waiting to check out, I was checking out what people had in their carts. Out of all the carts, only 3 did not have toilet paper.
We never walked back to the paper section of Costco but the sign when you entered the store said they were out of paper towels.
I can not imagine what the stores are going to be like in the coming days. Shopping before Thanksgiving was always crazy. We might be in for a bumpy ride.

We are at our lake house for the weekend and went to the Walmart here yesterday. They have added some fancy automatic entry gates. I wonder if that is a way to count customers.
I didn't see anyone without a mask. If you haven't been to stores for months, like a previous critical writer mentioned, I think things have changed. I find that people are much more compliant now about masks.
The paper sections were nearly empty. We bought the last package of the brand of toilet paper we like. There were very few packages of other brands. There were very few paper towels.

I heard on my local news channel that the Walmarts in the area will be doing the head counts again. I live in Northern Georgia.
