@ECBG   If the seller is an outside veendor and not coming/being directly provided by/shipped from Walmart there is shipping charged by that vendor.  

I ordered a particular brand of paint brushes last year thhat I wanted and paid for them to ship.  My Walmart items in the same order did ship for free.

Thank you for the this tip. I ordered a few items from the Super Walmart for pickup early this morning. This is the third time that I have used the service and I always feel like they are pushing items to be shipped to me. I don't want items to be shipped to me. I just want to use curbside pickup. I end up going through my order at the end and removing items. Now that I know about the filter, I will look for it on my next order. 

As for Amazon, I am a fan and purchase from them fequently, even though they have just raised their prime membership. (Boo.. hiss..)

Last time I ordered some food items from them (just regular online ordering), I got items with 'use by' dates that were unacceptable.   

I'm skittish enough about food items, but that's a place where you REALLY have to watch the dates on perishables.  I've store shopped there over the years and it's just the way it is.   

I think that's part of how they often have cheaper prices.  They bring in items that other stores won't take because they are less fresh.  That doesn't even touch on the subject of them applying dye to older meat and re-dating them.   IIRC, they got busted twice for doing that.  Obviously, anything like meat or fresh veg/produce I wouldn't touch there and I'd watch packaged/jarred/etc items closely before choosing as well.

The items I ordered last time were several jarred items (jams) that I cannot find in other stores anymore and there is no way I'd find dates that old in the grocery stores I frequent. 

Thankfully, Smuckers hooked me up this time.  I emailed them to ask if that one particular item was discontinued, since I cannot seem to find them at regular grocery stores anymore.  They responded very quickly that they are still carried but they couldn't see anybody near me still carrying them.  Even WM doesn't seem to have it anymore.   I got the items from their direct website.  They were packed well (another thing WM doesn't do that well) and shipped quickly.

I order Relion test strips for my glucometer monthly. As long as I order 2 boxes I get free shipping. Just received my order today and ordered yesterday. $35.00 or more is free shipping.
